Morrissey banned. Let the book burning's begin..

Spillers Records bans Morrissey music over his support for the far right - Wales Online
The world's oldest record store said it was 'saddened but not surprised'

    Excerpt:

The world's oldest record store Spillers Records in Cardiff has banned Morrissey records from its store.

The shop, in Morgan Arcade, is refusing to stock the singer's releases because of his continued support for the far-right.

    ...
However, one place you won't be able to buy the album is Cardiff's much loved independent record shop Spillers.

Ashli Todd, the owner of Spillers said: "I'm saddened but ultimately not surprised that Spillers is unable to stock Morrissey’s releases any longer. I only wished I’d done it sooner.”

Good point. The owner says they had to make the moral choice by not allowing his music to be sold in their store

They can do as they like, they are a private business. However, it brings up the question of judging artists by their moral and ethical code, and I reckon it just makes them look daft banning a 60 year due to their problematic politics. As someone else commented, will they then ban Micheal Jackson, Ike Turner, Ted Nugent etc.
They know Moz ain’t popular with the right people at present, and want to grab a headline and look progressive. Again, they just look fucking daft.

Not sure this person identifies as a woman. Perhaps a charity shop cardigan.

It just such a warped moral choice. He’s done nothing to no one. He said he’d vote for a particular party and wore a pin. This is worse than violent domestic abusers and pedophilia and drug dealers who actually talk about shooting people in real life. Such an odd moral compass

Good question about Michael Jackson, et al. Anyone here live in or near Cardiff? Care to stop by and ask them that question directly? I'm really curious how they can sell well know abusers like M.J., Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page), or The Beatles/John Lennon

David Bowie praised Nazism once - he'd have to go too.

One of the biggest rappers, Jay Z who among other things; sold crack to his mom, shot his brother and was caught on camera punching a woman square in the face back in 1998. I am sure his records are still on their shelf. Meanwhile, Morrissey wore a pin on vanilla popsicle Jimmy Fallon's show, the horror:rolleyes:

R Kelly, cliff Richard, The Who, Tom Jones, David Bowie...... And on, and on. Is she going to ban all these artists and more who have had abuse allegations surrounding them for decades? Child abuse, rape and child porn is ok but wear a badge and you're banned.
If she is stocking her shop using her moral compass for guidance it should be half empty.
      What a wimp!!

Simply making a point of not selling it to get themselves a bit of publicity. In reality, it will drive people to just shop online or in other stores, they need to get a grip.
