The Turin Shroud

er no:o...its my worst fault I'm so impatient I skim everything.

The program about is on now as I speak.

Makes me think of the Mel Gibson film....utterly brilliant and disturbing.

Let us know what you think when it's over. :)

"Without faith I am nothing."

Darwin f***ed up religion. It had a good innings. Can we move on now?

I personally think Jesus was a socialist, who would be pissed of with how history has remembered him.

The shroud is art.

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom too?"

As Morrissey once said, "Perhaps we should ask..... Arthur C Clarke":

I thought I'd taped it. I was wrong. Damn this 21st Century of yours.

Can any of you lovely people tell me if its going to be showing again any time soon? There's half a Twix in it for you if you do.

Only half?

Not that I'm qualified to play. :)

you can find it here.

I'll take a packet of jammie dodgers please.

Thanks for that! However, judging from your avatar, I think you've had quite enough Jammie Dodgers. I'll send some watercress instead.

I'm just glad someone else piped up before Bysshe demanded a whole Twix off me. My financers wouldn't have been happy...

When I was little, about eight I think, someone gave me
a little cardboard fold out picture of the shroud.
Being a believer back then, I thought it was pretty cool.
Unfortunately I don't have it now, or any other religious relics
and whether the original shroud was authentic or not,
I can't figure.
It looks like a man of that day and could be of anyone I guess.....

But as I started the thread surely I too should get a bit of the twix?:p

(I really enjoyed the programme...but as usual it threw up more questions than answers...my head tells me its a fake...my heart says its genuine..whatever is a very lapsed Catholic to do?)

Love Alma xxx

In Isaiah, it is prophesied that Jesus would be beaten and crucified. It says Jesus would be beaten and disfigured so badly that he would not be recognizable.

The face on the shroud is clearly recognizable.

Also, if God wanted people to worship Jesus, would he leave remnants about that would distract people from Jesus' deity, so that they would revere the remnants and artifacts rather than the Saviour Himself?

They don't provide a Twix allowance? What a bunch of cheap bastards!
