The Specials!

Any little bitches want to give their thoughts on this band? Anyone going to see them?

Can't get enough of them myself!

Love PTxx.

i already booked my travel from manc to london before seeing that they are playing leeds on 24/5:tears:

I saw them the other week on Jools Holland show.
Shame that Jerry Dammers isn't taking part. Terry Hall has put more weight on than me (and that's saying something!)
I was actually living in coventry during the Two Tone era..... yet was too busy discovering punk aged 16 in 1979 (three years too late!) to notice what was going on in the city. I did buy 'Gangsters' but that was it.
It was their finest hour in 'Ghost Town' that I realised what I'd missed. Listening to that song made me realise what a hell hole coventry was (still is:lbf:) and within months I had made my escape back to Manchester (we'd moved when I was younger)
I moved out on the Monday..... on the Friday The Smiths 'This Charming Man' video was played on The Tube (Jools Holland again!).... and the rest, as they say, is history:guitar:

Great band!

And, of course, "Ghost Town" is a national anthem.

1981 was a year that sticks out in my memory... (not just because I was at Wembley twice in the FA Cup final / replay:thumb:)

But riots in Moss Side, Toxteth, St Pauls, Brixton, Wandsworth...... the country was crumbling and descending into anarchy......meanwhile Charles & Lady Die were taking part in the charade of a marraige that had all the traditionalists weeping with joy as the rest of the nation was out on the streets!
'Ghost Town' simply soundtracked that moment in time.:guitar:

Brilliant. I'd love to see them live.

My personal favorite...

Mrs Brel managed to get us a pair of production release tickets today, for Sundays gig at the Manchester Apollo.

So we'll be there.

I've never seen the Apollo as alive as it was last night. The place went mad from the minute the curtain went up.

Best gig for ages.

"Hey, Little Rich Girl" was the theme song of this one daddies money lesbian chick I used to know. Whenever it plays I think of her and laugh.

Nuts. Tonight's gig at Brixton has been cancelled.

Terry Hall has a throat infection and the band "are optimistic that the remaining shows at Brixton Academy – May 7th, 8th, 11th and 12th will go ahead as planned."

Booooooooo :(

It'll be worth the wait though. I loved em!
