The Smyths Performing 'RANK' - 'Panic On The Streets' Official Book Launch!

Phill, are you getting any flyers sorted for this, i would strongly suggest attacking people's MYSPACES, would be great to see a full house.

what happened to the good ol days, when on every chara trip the drivers mate would hand out song sheets with lyrics of popular songs to enable a grand sing-song journey, be sure to have thay old fav' show me the way to go home then pass round the drivers grotty cap so the journey fellows could show their appreciation!

Grim

wow, that sounds amazing! I think you should organise that Phill.
I can bring along my sound of music CD, it will amuse me and Lizzy if not anyone else!
What about if we smoke right out of the window? I'm only joking, I can last a journey without smoking don't you worry about it, it makes the cigarette at the other end all the more better (note: this does not apply to clubs when you are drinking before someone mentions the S&G)
Can me and Lizzy get dropped off in Huddersfield as we are West Yorkshire residents? What time will the bus be picking us up and where from? It's gonna be an early start I feel!

Fook, i've just realised, 4 hours in a minibus with Steve and Fag Ash Lills  Shotgun, i will require that front seat mate!

when the dog bites, when the bee stings etc.

SS who made up the anti-leeds song on your bottom, it made me chuckle (even though I've a couple o Leeds mates). I just sang it to GU but she pressed all 3 red X's at once!

Excuse me? That's exactly what me and Lizzy have been saying about you!
I am the provider of quality entertainment on long car journeys, on the way down to Cheltenham with my family I had my pub quiz book out, my specialist round...Yorkshire. I'll bring that along shall I? Along with me Sound of Music Cd we're sorted!

Grim: I don't know who wrote that inspired Leeds song I'm afraid, they must be some kind of genius or something though. I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't!

Well not a flyer as such - but I have already put it out on my myspace (which YOU have failed to forward on to your 3 'friends'), but by all means feel free to produce one for me ;)

The Smyths are plugging it via their website / email lists and it is on all the Academy flyers / website / mailing lists too.
If we cant get 250 there then London has so much to answer for :D

Well I was hoping you would stay over at my place;)

I reckon on leaving around 9.30 - 10am (can meet you at Picc Station) so arriving in The Smoke around 2 - 2.30pm. Gives you about 5 hours to hit London before the night starts.
As for going home, I will be dropping Natalie off in Derby so I could continue up the M1 / M62 and drop you off in Huddersfield. If you are nice to me:D It will take a bit longer, but what the heck. I shall be driving so wont be able to drink and will be knackered but as long as I have a little kip in the afternoon shall be OK. I may even consider seeing if a mate will drive for me so I can have a drink or eight.

So far there are 9 of us who have said they are interested, think the minibus is a 15 seater, so anyone else please let me know ASAP.
Shame Paul and Andy will not be able to make it and shame we can't get back to Manchester in time for the last few minutes of Maladjusted!

Stuff all that lark. I'll go direct on the train. Any decent not-too-expensive hotels in the vicinity?

I were only joking, you can just take us to Manchester it's asking a bit much to drive to Huddersfield although I bet you are dying to visit it!
Are you driving? No drinking?! At your own book launch? You don't mind if me and Lizzy have a drink or 2 do you?

Oh and what are your thoughts on this Sound of Music CD?

on the way down to Cheltenham with my family I had my pub quiz book out, my specialist round...Yorkshire.

I can just imagine 'Our Steph' on Mastermind
Magnus - Steph, your specialised subject tonight?
Steph - Yorkshire

M - which county was The Railway Children filmed in
S - Yorkshire
M - Which county has a terrier dog named after it?
S - Yorkshire
M - Which is the largest county in England
S - Yorkshire
M - which county thinks it's the greatest at cricket but is actually quite crap
S - Yorkshire
M - Huddersfield is in which county
S- West Yorkshire ( a trick question sneaked in there!) :D
M - in the late 1980's a serial killer BEEP BEEP BEEP - I've started so I'll finish - in the late 1980's a serial killer was given the name of a county where the majority of his killings took place. Name the county.
S - pass

Magnus - Steph, you passed on one, the county that the name of a 1980's serial killer was given his moniker was, Yorkshire. (Steph shakes her head as if to indicate she knew it all along). Steph, after the first round you have scored 5 points. (audience applauses)

Foot note - Steph went on to win the heat and went on to the next round where her specialised subject was
'The smoking policy introduced after 1st July 2007 at The Star & Garter pub in Manchester.' :D

Well it was either go on my own (stand on my own etc) or for the same costs as the train and hotel, hire a minibus and take friends - and Deano - down with me.
So unless someone else volunteers to drive, I shall be alcohol free. Sadly.:(

I've just been pm'd by someone on here asking "is it £3 to get on the bus"? What do you advise?

 If the individual who PM'd you is named either mspendl, Uncle Liam or Ben Budd then it is £6

Other than the three stooges mentioned, it is absolutely FREE :D

However, I know that those three stooges will not be interested. They are Morrissey fans who have no interest in The Smiths, they almost deny the band ever existed. So to spend a day travelling down to London to listen to an evening of Smiths songs would just not appeal to them ''young en's''.

Well you can tell Mr mspendl that he can come on for free as long as on Thursday, he dances enthusiastically to at least three Smiths songs (of MY choice) and gets on his knees and begs forgiveness for lacking faith in the workings of Morrissey / Marr / Joyce and Rourke. And Gannon.:D

Oh. And he pays £3 to get in too:D:D

I thought that out of the duo Mr M was the cute/shy one who doesn't do limelight, if they were Take That Deano would be Robby & Mr M would be (insert name of the quiet one here).

I shall most certainly be coming Jukebox. Will be nice to meet some of the characters from the site on a good old fashoined road trip. Your hospitality is most amazing.

What time will we be getting back to manchester? i'm needing to arrange to get back to blackpool or get a hotel.

Again, you are a legend!
