This Saturday, 29th July, The Smyths will be playing at The Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden, London.

There will be two sets, one will be the whole of the Hatful of Hollow album and the other will be the whole of the Queen is Dead album.

Doors are at 8pm. The Smyths will be on stage at 9pm.

The Dublin Castle is always a popular night and usually sells out with a queue of people outside trying to get in so we advise you to get your tickets (£7) in advance at:

Full venue details and future events can be found at:

Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you there,

The Smyths

Hey Smyths
Hope that the sets go well, but personally, i'm not too fond of complete albums being played in their entirety.

I understand the appeal, especially in this QiD anniversary year but, following seeing Sweet & Tedner Hooligans in manchester last month (who were great, btw), I think that mixing up both Smiths and Moz songs is a better format for the audience.

Even for the die-hard fans (which, admittedly, is probably most of us - but there are other kind of 'newcomers' to the scene), playing a mix works better, at least for some of us. For example, if someone's not read your set-list, then not knowing what's coming up can be a nice surprise.

Just an opinion.

Looking forward to seeing you in Leeds again next month.

Ciao!

Hello Wilde Oscar,

The Camden gig has an exceptional set list for exceptional circumstances; As the original Queen is Dead celebration night sold out and could have sold three times over we needed a second night for which Camden fit the bill perfectly.

The band were, at short notice offered the opportunity to play an unscheduled show with Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke as DJs. Added to this the opportunity to perform a short set at Duckie to a largely gay audience at Duckie, we suddenly found that we had a number of unusual gigs in one month.

We therefore needed to give the Camden show a particular unique selling point too, in order to give our promoter at the Dublin Castle the same advantages that the previous shows had. Therefore the band took the decision to dust down Hatful of Hollow in it's entirety and make the Camden show a unique proposition.

As you rightly say, the Sweet and Tender Hooligans visited these shores from the USA to play a few dates and perform The Queen is Dead. To the best of my knowledge, a gig that had both albums performed in their entirety, back to back has not happened before (and may not happen again) and so we hope that we will have given our wonderful fans and a good promoter something special this coming Saturday.

Rest assured, upon our return to Leeds next month we will revert to the more standard Smyths set, being a montage of Smiths and Morrissey songs. Thanks for your support!

Graham, The Smyths.
