The new football thread

It was very nice to see Bryan Robson in the studio for the Paddy Crerand Show tonight. Bryan had a nice tan after his holiday in Adelaide, Australia. He said some really nice things about Cyrille Regis and that he had been to West Bromwich last Saturday to pay his respects.

Don't know if Paddy will make it to the Munich ceremony cause he's come down with flu and was really struggling throughout the show.

Lot of stories about the Munich disaster from fans calling in and the most touching was the old local lady Edna who shared her memories of that awful day in 1958 and she will be there for the ceremony. She's become a bit of a cult figure who calls in to the show regularly.

More details about the ceremony at Old Trafford.

The service starts at 14:40 UK time and a minute’s silence will be held at 15:04 UK time, marking the time of the fatal crash in 1958.

The ceremony will also include readings from club directors Sir Alex Ferguson, Michael Edelson and Ed Woodward. A rendition of Flowers of Manchester will follow the silence, and there will also be a performance from the Manchester United Foundation Youth Choir as well as music from Elliot Brass.

friendly reminder, football season has ended. time to shut this thread down.

Of the links I posted above only one worked today so I was fortunate that I was able to watch it all live on what was a very emotional day. The snow fell throughout which felt like a sign from above and a reminder of that snowy day in Munich 60 years ago.

As always on this day Pete Martin sang the song "The flowers of Manchester", a song made for his amazing voice and presence. I felt very proud of the club today and all the people connected with it.

Did they mention at the Munich memorial about kicking the families of the deceased or injured players out of the houses owned by the club shortly afterwards?
Thought not.

I think it is known among the wider public that they did a lot of things wrong in a time when most were left to their own. United are not unique in any way when it comes to shortcomings.

It really is sad how the respect in football has died and that people like yourself are pointing fingers when I am sure you're not perfect yourself. What I felt today is that there is truly only one club standing up for certain values today and that is Man United and it is because they learned from past respects. They are so much more than a football club and are indeed a social institution.

A lot of other clubs have a lot to learn not least Arsenal who in a very modern time abandoned players with huge personal problems. It says a lot that people on a day like today voice the things they do which of course comes out of a very deep and bitter jealousy.

What you talk about have been a debate on the club channel since it started and have popped up every now and then in other media and forums too. It is something the club have apologised for and learnt a great deal from and sadly you cannot say that about a lot of other clubs. The number of times players and managers at United have talked about it is evidence they never hide it away. I doubt you know there is a time and place for everything and no the table cloth is not a napkin.

I watched a fantastic documentary on MUTV yesterday about the hairdressers that cuts the hair for homeless people for free breaking the barrier and make them open up and talk about their life. That's a charity I believe in and of course Lou Macari has done a lot for the homeless in Stoke and together with the mayor of Manchester they plan to eradicate people being homeless in Manchester by 2020.

People like you and that bitter swallowed pill hiding under the name Charlie Cheswick couldn't care less about those former United players and families as you only like to point out the negative and spread your bitterness around even on a day like today. Manners cannot be taught to everyone if they are messed up by life to the point they will stick the knife in at any chance they are given.

These people are much better and you will never be like them cauee it's not in ya:

Your sister shut down ever since her rape ordeal and you should refrain from reminding her about that by watching rapists with a rugby ball.

I know you were bullied by the jocks at your school and that is why you ended up here.

The anti Daily Mail people sure love that paper when they write nonsense about Man United. Only goes to show how weak some people are. Socialists use anything for their dirty purposes when it fits them.

Like Trump calls it, fake news.

Huddersfield away it is and this time I hope the chemtrail crew are not creating heavy winds and rain when we go there for revenge. Clubs with open corners should get deducted points until they stop being lazy and build a proper stadium.

Tom Ince can't have a tattoo cause daddy Paul said no, ah bless the grown up kid.

Yeah. Lingard. Respectful. And a liar. The same prick who 3 days after the bomb at the Manchester Arena was singing Nick nack paddy whack, why don't City f*** off home when the city's football fans had called ''a truce''.

United fans demand respect for Munich and give f*** all respect back about anything. Singing songs about Hillsborough, Shankly, Russian submariners, Leeds fans being stabbed in Istanbul.

Not a football fan but if you read the whole story his social media agent sent that tweet while he was at the ceremony. Clutching at straws to create more fake news.

Way I remember it all the fans of the clubs you mentioned mocked that disaster for ages and so finally some United fans decided not to take it and mock those clubs over there tragedies. If you cannot take it start following bowls instead.

Did you just call the Daily Mail socialist?

Anyway, personally I couldn't give a f*** either way about Man United, they're a long way off my radar as my team is so far off them that it's a different sport. I just commented on summat I picked up in a news article, take it as commentary of something I noticed rather than a judgement passed.

You seem to struggle a lot when it comes to understanding other peoples posts and not just in this thread. The worst thing in humans is when they make themselves look more stupid than they are to escape a debate they've clearly lost at the start.1

I can do that too, shame about your side Notts losing 8-1 at Swansea. How does that feel?

I have a theory that when somebody calls another person stupid on the Internet they'll end up looking like a complete idiot themselves.

Like trying to piss somebody off by talking about bad result for a team that they couldn't give a f*** about.

Missed the point again and chose to make yourself look more stupid than you are again. The cucks of this world.......

Yes of course..... His "social media team" sent it.... Note not person but a team.... Really, how many people do you think Lingard employs to send twitter or Facebook messages?
He is a twat. And comes out with this shite excuse to get out of getting flack from fans. Knob of the highest order.

He had an audience of a few thousand right behind him plus tv cameras and no players or staff were even allowed to bring their mobile as that might have disturbed the ceremony. You are looking for things that are not there just because you choose to hate something that has nothing to do with you. If anyone is a knob it is the fake news media you chose to believe in and most of the fake media clearly explained that it was his social media agent that posted the message. I can't see how anyone would get upset by it though to be honest but so many people have really empty lives so they choose to focus on things like that instead of doing something with their own life.

I am not upset by it. Doesn't affect me in the slightest. Just pointing out what a prick he is. Same as Pogba moments after the service doing that stupid dance thing in front of cameras that scream ''It's all about me me me''

So you simply refuse to accept something that even the fake news had to accept at the end of their articles. As far as Pogba goes he has proved time and time again he is out of line and it is down to his heritage and upbringing. Ever noticed how you always shift from one talking point to another when the answers do not suit you?
