One of the best on the debut album.
Some of my favourite lines

As merry as the days were long
I was right and you were wrong
Back at the old grey school
I would win and you would lose

And Johnny's parts are amazing, the chord changes.

Last Smiths song and probably my last 10.

Love this song, the melody lets it down though and Moz' voice sounds quite flat in places. 8.

Beastly Little Parasite
"You are your Mother's only son and you're a desperate one"

An early Smiths song that is full of innuendo, along with yet another memorable riff from Mr. Marr. Not a classic or a favourite, but still good after all these years. 7 from me.

I gives it the 8.

But i don't want a lover
I just want to be tied ... oh ... to the back of your car

Love that lyric.

Forever Ill
a 7

this is one of my least favourite tracks the Smiths made for their first
Album/HOH [troy tate, 1983/4 tour]

it's both the music and Morrissey's voice which I find not good produced,
or Morrissey didn't practised enough with his voice, the music is repetive,
I mean the rythm of the song

On the other hand it's not that bad, Fatty can't even come close to this
song IMHO about the beauty of Morrissey/smiths song

and now the end is near:tears:

Well I Wonder

An 8. Just for the line, "No i've never had a job because i've never wanted one'...:)

I would love to hear this live.

Did I ever tell you by the way?
I never did like your FACE? :guitar:

I really wanted to say that to my calculus teacher, back in the day.

Doing Very Well
One of the most punk Smiths songs, IMO. The lyric is classic Moz, witty and sad and full of beans. Musically perhaps not the most sophisticated thing ever, but overall the song typifies The Smiths. 10 from me.
