Great song - this sums up Morrissey's career perfectly. Has he ever sounded as pissed-off and vengeful as this? 9 from Mal.

i'm sorry, but, no.

Where's your vote?

well, weirdly, when these polls were devised, their wasn't an option to award 0 points, so i've been disenfranchised for virtually all of his songs, post-1997.

instead, i have a placard.

“Your royalty’s bring you luxuries. Oh but, the squalor of the mind”

One of my favorite Morrissey lyrics.

I like your new latin style. Funny that I study latin too now, but I had to use a translator to understand the quote, I didn't even know it was Catullus.
Oh, well, cheers from the judge NRitH ;)

all i got was; and, with, and is. lol, and ive only been in latin for half a year.

i gave it a 8. good song.

“Your royalty’s bring you luxuries. Oh but, the squalor of the mind”

One of my favorite Morrissey lyrics.

I lurve that part too! I don't think he hit the high note on 'squalor' live, tho  :p I also like "don't let the blue eyes fool you" (that's very 'me') and how the lines build up a bit of 'rage' -he's gonna getcha!

I like the change in music, it's like two songs in one. The lyrics are funny and ring true (I love the teenagers will wake up, yawn and kill you) and it does make a good album closer. Thanks for 'lasting', Morrissey ... I know it must be so tough (lolz)

Seems people have softened on this track over the last few years. I seem to remember there being a lot of complaints about yet another song mentioning money/the court case ("Northern leeches").

The music feels a bit like Queen or other "epic rock"...maybe a bit of Suede in their grandiloquent phase. I like it. And I like the change in Morrissey's vocal register at the end. I remember that really caught me off guard.

A great closer that might have benefitted more from Visconti's production (is that piano real?)

I really like this song. its a tad long, but other than that, its good and a perfect closer. i'm feeling generous today. i'll give it an 8.

a 7

decent track from Quarry, bit dissapointed that it wasn't an 'speedway'
end or 'tomorrow' ... this song cant rank to this closing albumsongs.
On the other hand it's not that bad, Quarry is a good album, with
only 1 poor track [america is not the world]...it's a fillertrack, a good one,
but it shouldn't have end this album

eh dunno if you understand, but I'm lost from here, so I'll stop:eek:

Hillary for president, damn Nugz, you as a woman should support Hilary,
after all her husband wasn't that bad, not mentioning cigars, so instead of 1 you get 2 , and that other 1 has had his ass for 8 years on the
White House main office chair, he knows that world, has connections,
what more can the USA want to get up their feet again, get the dow jones up and bring the soldiers back from Iraq and Afghnistan

Obama isnt bad, he'll become a good president, but not yet, he's too young, not
enough expierence in that world of diplomats and wordleaders pretend
