I enjoy this track and all the versions that I have heard. It seems like each recording I have of the song, I love in different ways. I gave it a 9. Marr strikes again! That opening riff is killer!

No more apologies....
One of my favorite Smiths' tracks evar!!!! It was one of the first of their songs that really hit me and made me like them. This local bar had Smiths Best I on the jukebox and I would always play it...depending on how drunk I would often get played multiple times.:o:p Everyone in the bar was like "what is this shit?" Meanwhile, I'd be singing away and pounding my drink in complete drunken musical happiness. HAHAHA
I seem to remember hearing a rumor that Moz hated playing this song live. Is that true or is my memory as shot as I think it is?
oh ho oh... a 10! :D

The opening riff gets me jazzed! This is one of my top Smiths songs ever. I love his tone of voice on this track...a little monotone(? -which I LOVE) throughout till that ending/outro 'oh my sacred one' *chills*

Great lyrics & the classic line 'The devil will find work for idle hands to do'. So 'me'

I must say 'what difference does it make?' every day to my DH (we have different ways of doing -every-thing :p)

The ultimate combination of Johnny's fabulous guitar and Moz's crafted lyrics.
An early favorite of mine from the 80's, but looking at these lyrics now, this sounds like quite the abusive relationship!

But now you make me feel so ashamed
Because I've only got two hands
Well, I'm still fond of you, oh-ho-oh
Not one of the greater Smiths tracks, but it was the first Smiths song I ever really paid attention to after a brief clip of "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now". The image of Moz on TOTP, looking like Rolf Harris with the NHS specs, is iconic :). An 8.
True, it's not quite a Smiths classic, but the guitar riff and the ending - I just never want it to end. There's some fantastic Moz lyrics, of course - "and your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight", "but still I'd leap in front of a flying bullet for you." Strange how Morrissey never liked the official release from day one. It still gets an 8 from me.
i love love love this song! for me it's one of those Smiths songs that I never tire of. I could listen to it over and over again. so many great lyrics, and what a fantastic riff! IMO, of of their best and definitely one of my favorites. 10!!!!
Absolutely incredible - easily a 10.

One of those songs I overplayed at first & its effect grew thin on me. However, have recently rediscovered it & it's absolutely brilliant!
Not one of my favorites, but it's a nice energetic pop song. I love the way Morrissey sings, "I'm still fond of you, ah-ha-ho". Of course, those Top of the Pops appearances are to be forever treasured. Viva NHS spectacles! I'll give this one an 8.
