9, one of my favs. It's so great that he does it now

I love this. A lovely piece of music from Marr, some funny lyrics from Morrissey, making the sexual poetic as he did in "Reel Around the Fountain". One of my favourite b-sides.

One of the all-time bests, I am so glad it is on his setlist now.
Is there any point in ever having children?
I have been loving hearing his various responses at the recent shows.
Here are 2 versions:

I agree with both of you. It's one of the very best songs by the Smiths, Morrissey's lyrics are just wonderful, so sensual, this song makes me shiver every time I hear it (and I hear it a lot, believe me....). I love both versions, though at the moment I posess only the one in Louder Than Bombs. Not for long, I hope....

I remember finding this song really embarrassing when it first was released, because Moz had never sung about sex in such a vulnerable way before. I think this is just another example of the bravery of Morrissey's lyrics in exploring the vulnerability of sexual experience, of which "Dear God..." is just the latest example. I was surprised to see him bring it back into the set list after a 21 year absence, and it still sounds every bit as lovely as it did back in the day. The best part is the last verse in which Morrissey paraphrases Rebel Without A Cause: "Will the world end in the daytime or the nighttime?" A lovely b-side from the best b-side band/performer ever. 9

"Two icy cold hands conducting the way
it's the eskimo blood in my veins
amid concrete and clay and general decay
nature must still find a way"

It's simply a beautiful song that sounds as good today as it did all those years ago. Sheer poetry. It can only be a 10 from me.

7.
Nice song, not one of my favourites. Sometimes the melody is dull. I actually love only the outro.
I won't comment on the lyrics today.

To quote Morrissey in Merrillville: "Is there any point in ever having puppies?"

GREAT SONG (9) and on Saturday, the one I believed I finally touched the hand of God to. This song just took on a new meaning for me :) Comtesse, is that when you got your handshake? This song will always remind me of you -and the "Stretch, Stretch!" comment he made to you years ago.

I think I got my handshake - well, hand touch, really - during "How Soon Is Now?" It was during "November Spawned A Monster" back in 2000 that I first touched Moz - as he said, "Stretch, Stretch..." to me as I reached as far as I could across the barrier. Ah, memories... they come back to me like, like memories!

Another classic song that I'm so happy I actually got to hear it live. The whole setlist friday night gets a 10 from me.

an 8

its good, what's there left to say?

finest lines
will the world end in a day time
I really don't know
will the world end in a night time
i really don't know
and is there any point ever having children
no I don't know

6/10. Its just ok.

It's beautiful, almost effortless. It's as good as it gets lyrically, musically, it's just divine. Definitely in my top five.
