I've gone for a 6 - good song, but sounds so much better live compared to the studio version

Amy

from the Ice Age to the dole age
Speaking as someone who's only heard the live version, I give it a 10

Corrissey

lovable loser
Another strong 8 and one of my current obsession songs. It's one of those jingles I just can not get out of my head. This song sounds very Smiths-y to me too (I wonder, does anybody feel the same way I do?) My daughter really likes it too -she's a budding writer- and yeah, that Sister part she sings IN her sister's face. =o) No reason to talk about my kids, but still I do...

One of the best lyrics ever: And is Evil just something you are, or something you do?!

David Baddiel's favourite Morrissey song; but don't let that put you off! It's another effortless Morrissey/Street classic; a great melody, an intriguing lyric and a brilliant upbeat vibe. Who could ask for more!

Forever Ill
an 8

vary good song from the viva hate area, a b-side
Musicly it's Ok, Lrycly nothing to complain

Love it more live, becaue in the early years iwas in a rock a billy style.
the song on BEETHOVEN is very good

Dunno the current live vrsion

Better than Marr
The studio version, probably a 10, maybe just a 9 if not for the lyrics which are among his best. Earlier live versions, no lower than 8 but no higher than a 9 (except for maybe the 2002 version which I like just as much as the studio version). The current live version however, though I've only heard recordings and so can't judge how good it can be, sounds like a very strong 10 to me. I don't know why, but it never occured to me that it would sound better slower, with a bit of a heavier sound.

moz is ♥
All over this town
Yes, a low wind may blow
And I can see through everybody's clothes
With no reason
To hide these words, I feel
And no reason
To talk about the books I read
But still, I do

this song is one of the reasons why I love morrissey.
It's so typhical moz.
the lyrics are some of his best, and I like the studio version better than the live version. easy in my top 5.
10.

Well I Wonder

Now, Today, Tomorrow.....
9/10. a brilliant tune. Too good as b-side material!

Anais Pin

Wardrobe Mistress
A 10.

It's just perfection (the Beethoven version is the better in my world). Love love love it.

I would sell my Grandmother to hear it live; to all those who saw him do it on this tour I'm green with envy!!

"And is evil just something you are or something you do?"

A great B-side from the early solo days - it gets a very healthy 9 from me.

Doing Very Well
Chock FULL of memorable lines (my fave being the "no reason to talk about the books I read. . ." one), and it SWINGS!

A perfect 10 from me.

One of three stellar b-sides from "Everyday Is Like Sunday" and one of his most punchy and energetic songs. I loved when he sang this song at Wolverhampton and a plastic bag hit him and he changed the lyric to "a plastic bag stranded at the lights, this once was me" ... and then, he continued to sing that line when he performed it live thereafter. As my friend says, "I love life - it's so random."

Best lyric: "Along this way outside the prison gates, I love the romance of crime, and I wonder does anybody feel the same way I do? And is evil just something you are or something you do?" Such are the thoughts that fill my weary brain every day.

I give this one a shiny 9.
