The Independent lists Morrissey Desert Island Discs interview as one of her Top 10

The Independent has a story on its website about presenter Kirsty Young stepping down, for medical reasons, from her role of interviewer for the BBC Radio 4 programme 'Desert Isand Discs'. It lists - presumably in their view - her Top 10 interviews,on DID. It says "The Smiths frontman is uncharacteristically chirpy in his interview with Young, talking about his relative ease with life aged 50 and how he’s “very glad indeed” he didn’t grow up to be normal."

The article says that Kirsty Young recorded 496 DID interviews. The Independent put Morrissey's in her Top 10. See how Independent hates Morrissey?

They certainly were happier times when that interview was recorded.

the two people who have voted this down probably don't even know what Young Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell actually means, its the line M used to Kirsty young when setting the scene for one of his songs.

It really is coming to something when people have to be baby walked through seminal Morrissey quips; on a Morrissey website.

half the people on this site have no interest im morrisseys music whatsoever.
More than half of these people on here can't stand Morrissey. To make the assumption that people should know an old quip of his is a bit delusional on the part of the author. These are not the good ol' days of 91'-92'. The are dank dark times where once friends are now enemies.

I do have the version with full songs too if there's interest.

FWD.
The version on bb.co.uk is 45 minutes; isn't that the complete version then?

Anyway, I enjoyed it tremendously and Kirsty captured him in one of his more hilarious moments in his usual role as an outsider, exactly what draws (or drew) many people towards him. Well done, I can see why Kirsty would list this interview in her top 10.

Thanks for sharing, these were happier times indeed.
