John Darnielle from The Mountain Goats.
Also Jason Molina and Sufjan Stevens are up there.
Not seen anyone mention Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook from Squeeze.

Like them both, beginning to like Sufjan Stevens quite a bit-a few months ago
was listening to 'Ring Them Bells' all the time....
I've only got Illinois, Michigan and Seven Swans. Don't know that one.
Magnolia Electric Co. the album is still Molina's best work, though What Comes After the Blues is pretty special also.
been listening to some of his stuff today, Jason Molina, and really like the
stuff from Ohia....
Not seen anyone mention Chris Difford and Glen Tilbrook from Squeeze.
Jukebox Jury
I'm certainly not going to.
Sorry yeah I meant the Songs Ohia album called Magnolia Electric Co. It's an unbelievably great album. It all get's a bit confusing with the name changes though
I recently started listening to Okkervil River also, who are kind of similar. Haven't listened enough to get in to more than a few songs yet though.
Will Sheff from Okkervil River is right up there too.
If you like them, you will probably like Gravenhurst-Animals is my favorite
song by them-this video is from some movie but this is the song
Wow, that's fantastic. Thanks!
