they were used on a bbc advert last christmas with there only known song "blister in the sun" (dont get me wrong the song rocks but im sure the femmes have so much more to offer)

Hey I’m a Femmes fan and if you don't like them you're either uninformed or stupid. It's really that simple.

IMO Gordon Gano is the American equivalent of Morrissey, not as flamboyant. But I think he has the same panache with words and emotions(not always though).
