I tried starting up a few TV-related threads back in the days but I suppose they all died out by now. I watch a lot of TV (in fact, it's mostly turned on when I'm at home and, although I don't pay that much attention to it, I like the sound of it in the back).

I follow quite a few series but I must admit DVD has ruined all the suspense of waiting for 7 days 'till you see the next episode. As soon as I like something I get it on DVD and then I spend my Sundays going from episode one to episode 137 with short bathroom-food-mozsolo breaks. I am now watching Veronica Mars, next Sunday is reserved for Nip/tuck and a Sunday after that I'm all in The Wire.

There's still quite a few interesting stuff going on TV - on friday nights we get English criminal dramas so I make sure to watch it/tape it if I'm not there, I watch certain political shows and movies (if there's a good one on). I guess you could say I spend a lot of time in front of the TV but it really isn't that bad. I still get around a lot of other stuff and I don't miss it if I go away for a few weeks but I would find it hard not to have it for months (if nothing else then for that background effect I'm so fond of)

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

"The Prestige". A really fantastic film. I really can't wait to see it again. Both Christian Bale *sigh* and Hugh Jackman *double sigh* turn out great performances. In fact, everyone in the film does well.

The only thing that I did not like about it was the ending. They apparently decided that they had to explain everything at the very end, in case any members of the audience didn't "get it". I don't like having my intelligence insulted that way, particularly in an otherwise very intelligent, fascinating film.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

On TV: I suppose I don't technically watch TV because I don't understand half of it... I used to watch reruns of The Sweeney and The Professionals on Men And Motors (I love mentioning to people that this is my favourite TV channel, the looks I get! :D) but now I own them all on DVD, cause staying up till 12 whenever I wanted to watch something wasn't the best option. Still watch Minder every weekend at 8 (6 GMT...) though.

On The Latest Film I Saw: That version of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio in English class. We're reading the play. All I can say is:  What the heck were they thinking? It was really funny though in some twisted way...

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Minder is absolutley fantastic. I grew up around the area / Arfur's manor and at the time it was on T.V. Therefore it's like a trip down memory lane... (Wipes nostalgic tear from his eye).

Last film I saw was Borat. Absolutley hilarious.

School Boy humour - bring it on oooer Matron.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

There's a whole Borat thread... I'm almost convinced that I have to see it. I'm in love with the Minder feem tune. I actually listen to it more than I listen to some Moz tunes  *hangs head in shame*

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Touch of evil : I hadn't seen it since the early nineties I think. I don't know what the movie would have looked like if Welles could have shot it with the director's cut, but it is already a masterpiece.

From the first incredible and breathtaking first sequence - a three-minute uninterrupted crane tracking shot - to the end, the film deals with some very modern questions and is a model for most the (neo) noir movies

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

watchin again Moulin Rouge...i'm in the diamond dogs part...i quite liked the movie

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

The last movie i watched was a Porno called Pirates. I could tell you what happends, but since they are all about the same I will let you figure it out. I dont wanna ruin the film for anyone who hasnt seen it, but girl gets stabbed multiple times and one of them gets it in the end!

BR

P.S. i got it on soulseek if anyone hasnt seen it.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

I watched a Brazilian film called Lower City. this was about two petty criminals in a love triangle with a prostitute. some parts of the film were violent and also it has some sexy scenes. one scene had a cock fight (the farm yard animals please!!!!).
it was ok. the narrative was pretty basic and I found it interesting to see the scenes outside in the streets, the poverty etc (a different lifestyle, then what I see in American or English films). acting was ok too.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

This month NFT is hosting Japanese cult film season. Most of them are trashy, but one of the best is Kihach Okamoto's "Sward of Doom".
It's an adaptation of an uncompleted saga, the script was written by Shinobu Hashimoto who wrote "Seven Samurai", very influential film to Leone and Peckinpah alike.

It's a story about a nihilistic sward man who is kill to live leads him insanity. Tatsuya Nakadai's perfomance is awesome.

The season will travel to other part of UK later and next screening at NFT is November 12th 6:15pm.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

I just watched a movie called "Bitter Harvest." It takes place in Ireland and is about a bitter man, his self-chosen enemy, and how that relationship affects their families. Cillian Murphy stars in it. I'm not sure if I liked it or not yet. I need to watch it again.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

tonight I watched 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'. which was quite fun. Val Kilmer was for once good in his role. A sort of post-modern film noir. It skips along at a nice pace with it's witty dialogue and dark humour.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

the last film i saw was called 'the moguls', about a odd ball bunch of small town americans led by jeff bridges trying to make money out a amateur porn film with the locals.Jeff was the narrator and was a film within a film. Ted Danson was in it too and quite good in his role.
quite funny, not laugh out loud. turns a bit sentimental in the end. annoying american dream myth, that to be someone you must have money, anyone else is a loser. so they try to make money from amateur porn!
i thought it be better.

I seldom watch Tv, earlier it was as good as never, now that I don't have internet where I live, I've started following some series

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

I dislike most films I see at the cinema, actually I have stopped going to see films at the cinema unless there is a good chance I will enjoy it! So I was very pleased to find the last two films I watched at the cinema were most enjoyable! The Departed (FANTASTIC) and The Prestige (Good :p ).

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

This morning I went to the preview of The Illusionist, a film with Edward Norton as the... well... the Illusionist.
It was a pretty clever film!!
It will only open in cinemas in January, at least here in Holland.
I thought it was mix between Romeo and Juliet/Usual Suspect/Wild Things.
At first I thought: o no here we go again, another cliche romantic drama, but no - a lot of very nice twists toward the end of the film!!

O, and check out www.angryalien.com for re-enactments of films by cartoon bunnies, in 30 seconds! Hilarious!!

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

last night i watched a film called Underworld:evolution. This movie continues the saga of war between the Death Dealers (vampires) and the Lycans (werewolves).it starred Kate Beckinsale as vamp Selene, kind of like the matrix but with bloodsuckers.
pretty dull really just a film that looked liked a computer game. kate looked good and the film seemed to be in a constant twilight (grey, dark blue). Just
shooting off guns & fighting werewolfs, alright if your about fifteen but i'm not and i haven't got a playstaion!
