"On the eve of June 28th, 2011 Swedish journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson put everything at stake by illegally crossing the border from Somalia into Ethiopia. After months of research, planning and failed attempts, they were finally on their way to report on how the ruthless hunt for oil effected the population of the isolated and conflict-ridden Ogaden region. Five days later they lay wounded in the desert sand, shot and captured by the Ethiopian army. But when their initial reportage died, another story began. A story about lawlessness, propaganda and global politics. After a Kafkaesque trial they were sentenced to eleven years in prison for terrorism. And they were far from alone. Their cellmates were journalists, writers and politicians persecuted for not bowing down to dictatorship. Their reportage about oil was transformed into a story about ink, and their daily lives turned into a fight for survival inside the notorious Kality prison in Addis Ababa. Exposed to deadly diseases, daily beatings and fierce repression - deprived of their shoelaces and their freedom of speech - they fought to preserve the most valuable thing of all: the freedom to determine who you are and what you believe. This is their story of 438 days of hell."

A fairly decent account of these swedish journalists ordeal in Africa which was widely reported at the time around the world. A very lefties account though and it tries to blame the conservative government and Lundin Oil but Carl Bildt comes across as stronger than ever in this one.

These two marxists did however defend free speech and even defended the criticism they got. I debated this with my dad a lot and I am still of the view that something with this story is very fishy as it always is when socialists are involved in things abroad.

I love the quote from Carl Bildt when he said "Every swede seem to believe there is a well of oil under every gas station but we all know that is not the case".

Studying the facts and the way they breached the laws of a country entering illegally tells me they were lucky in the end. Gustaf Skarsgård does well and even Varela who is an actor I don't rate much but they do well together portraying the journalist and his camera man.

I must add that companies like H&M and IKEA were the reason why the release of these men stalled. The two companies were just about to launch stores down there so business goes before free speech.

The movie is in many ways, despite all the lefties that made it, a statement in support of free speech.

"Rory MacNeil, a rugged old Scotsman, travels to San Francisco to seek medical treatment. He moves in with his estranged son Rory, as he sees his life getting transformed through a newfound bond with his baby grandson."

Based on a novel and turned into a screenplay and screenplays usually suck but Brian Cox turns this into magic playing the fiery scotsman. This is more a comedy than a drama and they even speak in gaelic here and there.

Some very funny scenes and especially when a man imitates the scottish accent and uses some classic scottish words. Not seen Thora Birch in ages so it was nice to see her again and here she plays this occupied business type mother worrying more than enjoying the child given to her.

Rosanna Arquette plays the gallery woman who starts some kind of relationship with the dying scotsman. We liked it and had a few laughs here and there.

I had to watch this in order to confirm my suspicions and yes this is a movie for lefties clowns or losers as they are called. What a sick depraved mess of a movie about a mentally ill man who has to kill white successful people.

Make no mistake about it, this is what lefties clowns will do to the world if given the chance. The only interesting aspect is that the joker here is at first a white supremacist surrounded by non whites and people with english accents. When he has lost his own national identity he loses track and starts killing those that are like him.

Creating an anti hero completes his sick revenge on everything and everyone. This is so american it needs a european version so that we can understand it completely cause americans confuse a lot of things on purpose here.

Watching this awful man undressed made me physically ill and I doubt a face has ever been more ugly. He is built like a coat hanger and even runs in a way that made Pilla notice it and question it.

Phoenix made me think of the Bono character he uses on tour which is a illuminati creation by the left to break down the last values among white people. This is probably how USA will finally collapse under similar scenes from some strange character tied to some political movement.

Howard Wayne is Donald Trump (same number of letters in each name) and the garbage littered all over the streets is not the real garbage here cause that is the masses of people who instead of creating a life through the success of others want to destroy it. Opportunity is not welcomed by those that never wanted to achieve anything in the first place.

Those that watch and love this are the real losers out there hating their own white skin. I found it entertaining to enter the sick and twisted mind of lefties during this movie and suddenly I understood how very sick they are and that you cannot really see them as people.

Not that I ever did.

a masterpiece from chile
el club (2016)

it's about the catholic church f***ing it all up, both metaphorically and literally.
a small village at the chilean coast at a home for catholic priests who were removed from office for all sorts of reasons, the most obvious one being child molesting and paedophilia, of course.
the film is also about homosexuality, and other "offences" that threaten to break the narrowminded and strict world view of the catholic church.
in a brilliant way, the director slowly unveils the perversity of this odd community, after a commissioner of the vatican has been sent there in order to close down the home and inquire a suicide.
at the end, the audience knows how to see behind the facade, but it is a longer process, and i was surprised that he was able to evoke some comical and even pitiful reactions towards the group in the first part of the film. a village idiot, who accusingly but also longingly is shouting out loud his rape experience in very explicit detail to everyone who does not want to listen, and later is handfisted by a prostitute, adds to this confusing depiction of sin and desire. at the end, all people involved are perpetrators and victims alike. felt very sorry for the dogs (too).

now, this was great fun!

the shrinking man shrank bc he couldnt even make his wife fetch a bottle of beer for him without her gettin into negotiations about it. after that he is punished by ending up in a radioactive cloud that appears from nowhere. after having shrunk to the size of a thumb, he has to prove his manhood fighting against domestic threats, like the cat or a spider in the cellar. the miniature man is the 1950s version of nowadays inferiority complex ridden online trolls who are living in their parents' or wife's basement imagining to be the toughest dicks. unfortunately, mr shrinking man dies the size of a speck of dirt after having declared his unity with the big, big universe. lol

I really do hope 202o is a better year for movies than 2019 was cause this past year has been awful and probably the first year in my life when I've watched more tv series than movies.

I've decided to keep my home cinema after all cause I was going to sell it since I haven't used it in ages but then I thought to myself that it might come in handy in my next home when I buy one in 2020.

The home cinema projectors used to cost a fortune but now even the replacement lamps are quite cheap making it easier to buy a top quality one knowing the lamp won't cost a fortune to replace.

Not looked at motor driven cinema screens and if the prices have gone down on those as well but I am happy with the one I have.

Had no idea Sundance collides with the Gothenburg film festival. Only been to the Stockholm film festival and still confuse the director with another one that was having one of those "an audience with" appearances.

That's the trouble with not being a fan, you tend to not appreciate a thing like that.

But staying with the topic a trip like that is probably the only reason to go to the states. I never will of course but for other reasons.

Rental companies will probably never offer those types of cars for the simple fact that the batteries used in those cars die out in no time and cost 10 times as much to replace as the car when new. The environmental muppets do not realise that these cars have no chance in the future and we will drive cars on gas until the last drop of oil is gone which will never happen cause oil is not a fossil fuel.

It would be economic suicide if rental cars were run on a technique that is fast dying out due to the minerals needed to make these complicated batteries are expensive on top of the minerals actually not going to be available anymore.

Varg Vikernes explains this and the role North Korea is playing cause they sit on the gold that is a mineral needed to be able to manufacture the batteries. In the real world things are more complicated and car companies will continue to rule the world and most politicians have large amounts invested in those companies so the gas free car dream is a mere blip that will be gone in about 10 years or less.

Then we have countries like Germany who prefer to burn brown coal instead of using nuclear power. It is no longer about the climate but about lefties positioning themselves against the nuclear power people who the lefties hate and want to stop from making money.

If we had continued with nuclear power in a large scale the climate would have been perfect not that we are having any problem with it now cause what we do have a problem with is third world countries polluting the world.

If you wanna get in time to those movies you should think about a car that runs on gas cause public transport will never get anyone there on time.

You wonder what you need and I would say a pillow or cushion to sit on cause I have never in my life sat in any movie theatre where the seats were good. Add to that the fact it always gets warm in them and you cannot go to the toilet or for a fill up.

Movies are always best at home in your own theatre and when AIDS was still a killer those patients first advice from the doctor was to avoid movie theatres as they are full of people spreading the flu and worse. So make sure your immune system is in great shape.

Apart from that have fun and enjoy it!

I almost forgot!

You need a great german medical insurance cause I doubt you have an american. For when you go skiing cause it doesn't matter if you are Ingemar Stenmark out there cause it is other people that cause accidents.

There is a EU one and my dad had that. For all overseas travel in the entire world.

Purchase of electric cars expensive flop for the police - can not handle car chases

In order to achieve its climate targets, the British police have purchased, among other things, Nissan Leaf and BMW i3. These have now proved to be worthless for car chases and emergency calls where they are not related and now it is feared that the planned investment of a quarter of a billion SEK on electric cars can be wasted money .

According to police, the cars do not live up to the requirements during car chases and emergency calls. Since the performance of electric cars is so much worse, they are now used instead only for situations that are not urgent and to transport police officers to work.

The police's internal report states that the problem with the cars is that they do not go fast enough, do not have enough reach and take too long to charge to be ready for emergency call.

In total, 30 of the country's 46 police districts have planned to spend 250 million on purchasing 448 environmentally friendly cars, which they now believe could be a waste.

According to a report from Scotland Yard, where it purchased 134 electric cars and plans to replace the entire vehicle fleet with electric cars by 2050, it has been necessary to purchase more diesel cars in order to carry out car chases.

Concern for delayed police officers
At the same time, the police union is reassuring citizens who are worried that the police will not arrive quickly enough due to electric cars being charged.

- No one has to worry about the police not being able to move out because the battery is empty. It would be negligible for those who handle the vehicles to limit themselves so they can still use other cars.

So the idiots in Scotland realised this then needed faster cars and went for diesel cars who are the slowest fuel cars on the market plus they do not work well in cold.

Overtaking smelly diesel cars is a sport for most drivers. Diesel engines are the ones that we need to ban cause they give people cancer.

Nonsense. You are, once again, spreading misinformation. Gold is not a mineral (it's a metal or element) and it's been replaced by nickel which is widely mined all across the globe. Electric cars are the future as is the solar and wind energy.
You can get about 5 years out of an electric car (depends on your yearly mileage) at which point most people replace it with a new car. The amount of fuel you are saving of the course of this time is staggering.
You and your teacher Varg are two dumbasses. Crawl back into the fossil paradise.

refreshed my acquaintance with hitchcock's vertigo, and i must say, it has grown even more stunning over the decades, a feast for the eyes.

lots of theories about the secret of the beauty of this luscious film. as a teenager i had watched it on my lil tv cube; there was no space to appreciate its artistic achievements, so i had to focus mainly on the plot.
this time it really overwhelmed me, especially the "saturated colors" of course. but i think what contributes to its deeper artistic mystery, is the fact, that what hitchcock added in color, he took away in objects, especially in the exterior shots. places are almost depeopled, there is absolutely no trash or any other unnecessary distraction to the eye. so every object in its exuberant colors can thus turn into a symbol.
this was the first insight i had.
then:

in this restaurant scene there are of course lotsa frames, but they wouldnt have the effect, if it wasnt for the vertigo-shaped ears that lead into the interior of jimmy steward and kim novak. it's almost pornographic how the camera opens up the view from both their protruding ears into their internal ear. so both, vertigo-shaped ears and quadratic frames in their contrast highten each others effective power. in this scene their souls enter each other through the ears. it is very clear.

the "voyeuristic" camera movement is sexual, as it is shoving its way through the deeply vinaceously red wallpapered room, in a transvaginal move, and it represents jimmy steward's detached longing, that he is yet unconscious of.

It's not gold you fool.

They don't last anywhere near as long as fuel cars.

Haha staggering alright when you lose the entire value of the car overnight. They take forever to charge and you get nowhere.

But don't worry you can't afford one anyway.

LOL

Try to find the mineral I talk about and entertain us by talking about gold and other non metals.

Like what? A criminal record?
I have no reason to go there and it shocks people every time I say it. USA is so known to everyone out there we have no need to visit it.

There is nothing for me there is all.
