T-shirts celebrating Morrissey's and Kurt Cobain's death - Interview with the creator

"Some Guy Is Selling T-Shirts Celebrating Morrissey and Kurt Cobain's Death, so We Asked Him Why" - NOISEY

Excerpt:

...Last week I noticed a new online shop called Pleasures which had released a bunch of clothing: one featured Kurt Cobain’s suicide note printed on a T-shirt. The other was a printed hat which read “RIP Morrissey”. The photoshoot for the collection took place in a graveyard. So that’s the printed words of a dead man’s suicide note on a cheap t shirt, and a cap that suggests Morrissey - who revealed the numerous hospital treatments he’s had for cancer in an interview last October - was nearing his death bed and would die this year.

What a f***ing c*nt this guy is I want him dead. Never do this to any artist and especially to morrissey who has had trouble with his health. F*ck you, you don't know if this is his last tour and you should be ashamed of your shit design. Morrissey was diagnosed with cancerous tissue not cancer. Stop with the constant saying that he was diagnosed with cancer(I'm talking to you the press) to get cheap reactions out of fans. This c*nt should get slapped in the face. Morrissey is not dying and I'm sure he is not retiring with touring. He might take very long break after this your but he is not giving it up. He is looking frantically for a label. That don't sound like a man retiring from touring unless he is going to pull a David Bowie on us

Please for the love of God everyone in the world. Please use the term cancerous tissue instead of cancer. Have some mercy for us who love him so much. The c-word scares the shit out of us

To be perfectly honest, I think that Moz couldn't care less about that. He would perhaps find it slightly amusing. I find the Cobain shirt far more tasteless.

Both of them, the cap and t-shirt is frankly disgusting. Talantless jerk. Wow he is so cool, so morbid and so out of the box  my friend once told be that she would be glad if morrissey died because I would have shut up about him. She said this after I called, crying over morrissey and the cancerous tissue thing. Did not talk to her for a week

Appropriateness or not aside...damn! Those are some unstylish, Paul Simon-esque Dad caps. These are selling in Los Angeles? Really?

If I were going the morbid Moz route...I'd suggest buying this shirt from the hip Cristocat website. At least I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in public wearing it, unlike the hats.

Also...if the RIP Moz hats are supposed to be mourning his touring career...why aren't they printed with the dates 1983-2015 instead?

He is looking frantically for a label. That don't sound like a man retiring from touring unless he is going to pull a David Bowie on us
I seriously doubt this Alex guy is following current-day Morrissey that closely outside the big headlines.

In bad taste. Some people seem to like associating themselves with the name 'Morrissey', regardless of the way they do it. Yet another tumbleweed scraping across the barren soil of the internet.

Let's not overlook the repulsive cash-in on Cobain's suicide note. What a shithead.

Well, the next time I see Morrissey live--which I am certain will not be in 2015--I will buy one of those shirts with the concert dates on the back and send it to our friend. I am certain he would not want to be factually incorrect.

T shirts with Cobain's "suicide" note on have been around since the late 90s.

I think it's just a reference marking the end of his career as a pop performer

I know it's over !

The cap and the Cobain suicide note on the t shirt are vile. But the article is also incorrect - when was Morrissey ever 'diagnosed with cancer'? All we have to support that is a poor translation of an interview which mentioned something akin to 'cancer scrapings', which would seem to mean cancer biopsies, possibly on his throat. If he had been formally diagnosed, touring the world would be the last thing on his mind.
