Yep, tonight it kicked off and Yohio, the teenage boy doll famous as hell in Japan, booked a place in the swedish final. The big Eurovision final is in Malmö in May as Sweden won the whole thing last year.

Watch Yohio and his bands performance from tonight before it gets banned at Youtube. If you are scared of dolls then you might think twice before looking at it:

He's a walking, breathing anime character. No wonder they love him in Japan! :D

Yeah, 17 years old and speaks fluent japanese as well. His whole family line is full of rockers from various bands and eras. He is off to Japan on Wednesday for more promotion. Apparently his japanese fans were all using swedish ip's to watch him live online. This scene is apparently called visual rock should anyone still try and label it EMO :)

I've never seen anything like it.

I've never seen anything like it.

Here he is in an interview with norwegian talk show host Fredrik Skavlan on swedish tv. It is in swedish but with english subtitles. Yohio was very angry in an interview after his performance last night about the fact that during this Skavlan interview the norwegian tv show host described him as a young teenage boy that loves to wear dresses.

Jay-jay Johansson surprisingly took part in the first leg of the swedish Eurovision last night. He ended up last with the least votes which is not surprising as he's not well known in his native Sweden.

Second part of the swedish Eurovision qualifying on Friday night hardly worth a mention as state run swedish tv company SVT seems to have erased any recordings of it on Youtube. Sean Banan went to the finals straight away for the second year running and the singer Louise Hoffsten fought threw her well known MS disease to reach the final as well. Both Sean and Louise had trouble walking for various reasons but both battled through illness and accidents they suffered in the build up to Fridays show.

The swedish qualification rolled on tonight in my mothers birthtown of Skellefteå up north. It turned out to be a very male dominated evening that took everyone by surprise. Morrissey's fave swedish singer Tommy Körberg went straight to the final as part of the male group Ravaillacz. He is the one in the group with the biggest belly and ego. He will now be in his third Eurovision qualification final. Here they are with their humourous and tacky song:

State of Drama also made it to the final.

My personal favourite on the night never made it which surprised me a lot. Amanda Fondell, the swedish Idol winner from 2011, summed the night up with the title of her song "Dumb".

Big talk today after last nights swedish Eurovision qualification is that Janet Leon did not go to the final or got a second chance in the 5th round of qualifications. Many believe this song could have one the whole Eurovision for Sweden for the second year in a row but it is no secret that Swedens state tv cannot afford to win it two years in a row. Maybe she should have got a place in the final for her bodysuit that showed off her persian curves.

*Could have WON, I meant. Sometimes I think the computer keyboard is just playing games with me.

As a swede I was surprised to find this thread here of all places and I wonder why the person that started it did not complete it. For those souls out there that may wonder how it all ended a week ago here is the answer.

Winner who will defend Sweden as reigning champions in the Eurovision in May is Robin Stjernberg with the song "You":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJyvF02LNNA

Robin took part in the swedish version of "Idol" when he weighed 16 kilos more and was described by a jury member as "a male version of Liza Minelli". Which is why Robin chose the song "Dude looks like a lady" as the encore music while he was introduced before performing his winning song. He is not gay and his girlfriend took part in the same season of "Idol" as Robin and they fell in love.

Re: Eurovision 2013 thread

British people don't expect Bonnie Tyler wins the contest.

Really shock to see her face which is result of cosmetic surgery.

A much better facejob than you normally see I must say. If they all looked that great then I'd have no problem with people having them, Maybe she did not do it in the USA where those facejobs are as horrid as the dental jobs done on stars. Her face is still smooth and can move unlike many of the american stars can.

Re: Eurovision 2013 thread

Watched it on BBC and according to news flow at this hour this is considered the best ever Eurovision by miles. People from UK working with the show and reporting from it have been sent text messages from people who normally do not bother with the Eurovision and thought this was outstanding.

Well done to the Emma Watson/Shakira lookalike who won it. She's half swedish and half danish and polish as well. Not quite clear what she is.
