Strange/unexpected Moz references?

On BBC Tv show 'Room 101', in which a panel of three personalities compete to banish things that they hate to a Room 101 never to be seen or heard of again, comedian Tim Vine wanted to banish karaoke DJ's who take over the show and sing themselves. To illustrate the subject the BBC had a doll DJ and screen wth karaoke-Style lyrics of Hang the DJ, hang the DJ, hang the DJ

Russell Brand quotes "I can smile about it now but at the time it was terrible" (as he often quotes Smiths lyrics):

The quote is not completely intact.
Before "I can smile about it now but at the time it was terrible" it said: " I thought I was a protest-singer". :lbf:
Well in any case it makes it more funny for me at least. :D
