I must admit, when I first heard they were reforming, I groaned and I facepalmed. I loved the band in my youth, but was highly sceptical of them pulling this off with any credit.
Still, I bought myself a ticket for Optimus Alive in Lisbon (where I luckily live) as I intended to anyway before they announced they were playing there.
But it appears they're doing a good job. Everyone I've spoken to who was at Heaton Park says it was top. I'm guessing the atmosphere would have played a part as much as the gig itself but still... The Stone Roses are here tomorrow and I am, in a word, giddy as f***.
