To those wondering about Roxy Music t shirt surely it's due to the 50th anniversary and tour next week. A wee nod I'd suggest

Looks brilliant.

I'm off to see Roxy Music a week tonight
seen roxy a few times over the years, bryan ferry is a great songwriter with a great back catalogue.

Isn’t it a source of amazement to anyone else for Steven’s ability to separate art from artist. Bryan Ferry couldn’t give a rat’s arse about animal rights and yet…… 👆👆👆

- smack heads like Rourke and Doherty ❎- Bowie/Iggy/NYDs ✅
- animal cruelty and endorsers ❎ - Ferry/Roxy Music ✅

The mind boggles

This is like those odd gigs he did in 2006 when he played in Halifax. Wonder what made him say I want to play in Stockton?
Or Reading!

Felt it was a great, great show last night, the tour overall seems to have been a resounding success, perhaps one of his best in recent years due to the venues chosen.

He wasn’t massively chatty but Moz seemed to be enjoying himself and the band all sounded fantastic. No disrespect to Boz but Alain coming back has been a real boost, his harmonies during “Hurling Days” exemplary of what brings to the sound of the group.

Setlist was fantastic, “Please Please Please” being a classic happily ticked off my list, but I think “The Loop” and “Our Frank” come top of my list of most enjoyable moments, truly great songs, love how playful Moz has been during the latter, sauntering about the stage with cig draped from his mouth.

New songs sounded fine, nothing terribly earth shattering for me, is still think “Spent The Day in Bed” is best recent single and am surprised he doesn’t throw it in the set more, “Rebels” is catchy but almost too much like “Cemetry Gates” to really carve its own, “Veronica” has a nice chorus but seems to go at one pace “Sure Enough..” is a little close to standard Refusal era plod rock and “Bonfire” well, that song and all of it’s baggage is maybe best saved for another time. Good vocal though.

Crowd seemed really responsive and enjoyable, not as manic as Blackpool but I couldn’t sense any disappointment in the room as I have occasionally felt when at bigger arena style shows. Still not sure what someone meant earlier about the it being dangerous, felt there was plenty of space for movement, I never felt restricted or crammed, beautiful venue too!

So last night I got a handshake. :)
Not only that, Moz recognised me a couple of times during the show.
On this video, at 1:03 it is me whose hand he is shaking and then pointing towards me as I get dragged out by security.
Ecstatic.

Really great venue, it's like a smaller Brixton Academy . Have a belting hangover, pub across the road was rough as f*** but funny with it. Looking forward to the Palladium tomorrow where I shall be rattling my jewellery....😀

That me being escorted out! 😂😂

As good as Doncaster last week, great venue and great set!
you got kicked out? :lbf: sorry to laugh but you seem pretty amused by it

Yep - no arguments here. Setlist looks a banger too. I did think it was their farewell tour back in 2011 so this is an unexpected bonus!

Yes, it never left.
That was what was so annoying about him faxing it in for while- at least in USA
M usually works best when his back is againt the wall.
He thinks "f*** you" and comes out swinging. I think he knows the best was to carry on is to keep mum and just do what he does best and kill at every show. Which is what hes doing. To be honest, I rarely saw him do a bad show in London. Brighton. Manchester, even reading. He was always brilliant.
All that happened, really was he became a victim of a culture change and M is nobodies victim so he shot his mouth off and went nuclear with the wind ups .. Still, deep down he hadnt changed.
I just wish he would put more work in , in the words department and be a bit more interesting there. Still rom 21 to 39 he was the best there had ever been He just got a bit lost and lazy
I think maybe just maybe , having to fight for his fans and his mum dying maybe the jolt he needed
 omg make it stop

It’s been bugging me for some time - but could someone confirm who that backdrop is? I have in my head that it’s Martin Sheen.
Yes, Apocalypse Now.
Martin Sheen.

FWD.
