Stella McCartney - Leather free shoes for Morrissey

MAKING MENSWEAR WITH STELLA MCCARTNEY - Prestige Online
With her debut collection of sustainable menswear, Stella McCartney shows the world why she is the thinking man's choice.

Excerpt:

“Their shoes should be cooler than a conventional pair of shoes made out of dead cows. I feel it’s really the right time to bring that into men’s wardrobes, because they do not have anyone designing in a conscious way for them.

“The first pair of vegetarian shoes that I designed and made were for Morrissey, because he asked me to make him some stylish shoes. He’s so cool from head to – and then it comes to toe, and you’re like, ‘What have you got on your feet?’ Because there was no option for him.”

But it’s important to note that this isn’t just a collection for men at Morrissey levels of activism. This is, first and foremost, clothes men want to wear. Right on cue, two male models walk to where McCartney and I are sitting. They’re demonstrating a couple of looks from the new range, as McCartney gestures and talks me through the pieces.

Story is irrelevant to anything on here. Seriously how often do you really look at a mans shoes?
Wasn't that the very reason Andy Dufresne was able to escape from Shawshank?
I have to admit though that I do notice shoes if they are very stylish. For example it is hard not to notice Paul Weller's shoes as they are so cool.

I guess with the right kind of sandals you mean Birkenstock sandals or something similar, as Steve Jobs used to wear and made a trend of it. I share your opinion about the idea that everything should be possible in fashion. The more revolutionary the better, but that doesn't mean people can't feel a little shock when they see something contrary to standards. That's the idea.

I love the shirt with birds. Morrissey would be super handsome wearing it. I do like her designs and I like her too, she seems a very nice person.
haha, no i didnt mean like steve jobs. i didnt know that he wore socks with sandals but to me it hardly matters what steve jobs wore as i have never casted one thought in that direction. :p i meant more like the picture 12"... posted. or like these countless examples:

my issue with the no socks and sandals brigade is that the people who make it up are generally people who havent even looked around to actually know whats up. they just assume the stance, assured in their good taste, despite having no reason to be. if an in the know person simply doesnt like socks with sandals fine, but i dont think those who arent in the know have any business flinging around grim indictments upon the fashion choices of others.

as you can see, versace (which i dont really like) is doing it:

as for stella mccartney, i dont think she's a bad designer by any stretch, it's just most of the time i dont understand her concept, or for me it's hard to grasp the feel of what she's going for, as with the above. for example, this jacket:
https://www.ssense.com/en-ca/women/product/stella-mccartney/blue-denim-city-jacket/1805193
it's an okay jacket, i might even wear it (although if i were to spend that much on a denim jacket, there are probably a hundred i would choose before that one, which seems to be my general opinion on all stella creations: it's good, but it wouldnt be a first choice). the shape is not bad, but i dont understand why it's shaped like this. what is the point? what is it referencing? how am i supposed to look at it? as for the purple shirt, i guess it's pretty nice, even if i dislike the colour purple. you're right, it would look splendid on morrissey. let's take up a collection and buy it for him!

Lovely pics, thanks. Well before all those fashion photos, Steve Jobs used to wear sandals and sandals with socks in the eighties during situations and in places where normal people didn't do that. Just like the Olsens do. It was considered extravagant and bad taste then, and now it is a trend. That's what fashion is about, I guess: changing paradigms. Japanese people are doing it from ever, and they are very smart, so... Socks are lovely, warm and confortable, and sandals are very comfortable too.
About SMC, I guess you can't love everything a designer do, and it's normal if you like some designers more than others.

Maybe morrissey can afford her clothes but i cannot. Holy moley!

The have "vegetarian" [PVC] shoes for men at PayLess. They're cheap, but they're sturdy. I wore them in high school.

I wore these as a legal temp for a few years and got jungle rot as my feet sweated a lot and they do not breathe.

I've never seen a Stella McCartney design that I like, not one.

I think I get what she is trying to achieve (comfortable, effortless looking clothes with a bit of a vintage touch), but it all just looks a bit 1985 fashion student and what's worse, her clothes are terribly unflattering.

A designer who manages to make someone like Cameron Diaz look fat is just not a good designer.

The thing is 12" she only got the job because of Mummy and Daddy in the first place. She can do exactly what she wants because she can.
It's really laughable ! Fame, fame, fatal fame

The milk trucks look ok but it does nothing for her arse.

Socks with sandals are anticlimactic. They should not be worn on the streets under any circumstances. They are meant only for the runway and hippies.
You can tell Morrissey disapproves of this fashion disaster.
