Following on from the 'Vivar In A Tutu' post this has been happening for the last two weeks as on each episode of Springwatch Chris Packham manages to quote a Smiths song title. So far we've had Hand In Glove, What Difference Does It Make, Handome Devil, Frankly Mr Shankly, You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby, and last night, Vivar In A Tutu. This has been picked up by the BBC messageboard and I even managed to get it mentioned on 6music on Monday evening.

(Click on Monday's show and listen from around the 1.56 mark - the show has a couple of Morrissey session tracks featured as well but not sure of time)

I wonder what song it will be tonight!!

He's a big music fan in general, and in particular of The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Smiths. Also, I noticed this week that when the studio realised he was wearing a Crass t-shirt, they panned up and didn't show it again.

I wonder if it's a ruse to wind up Bill Oddie. Rumour is that he wasn't the most popular man on Springwatch and we all know how much he loves Morrissey. :D

He's just got Big Mouth Strikes Again into the conversation.

Chris Packham is doing it on purpose now:thumb:

He just shoe-horned another reference in. In a description of a reed-warbler chick (I think) he said "it really is a case of Bigmouth Strikes Again".

    Good lad.

I've only watched one episode, when he said 'Frankly Mr Shankly' (about ducks, I think it was) and thought to myself.... ''What''?

    Fair play to the bloke:bow:

How on earth did he get Frankly Mr.Shankly into a conversation about birds?

In tonights episode, before the Bigmouth quip, he kind of got Some (things) Are Bigger Than Others.

I'll bet he's saving Barbarism Begins At Home for that male bird that's tormenting the female's chicks.

He's just said, the Queen is Dead whilst talking about the plight of the British bees. It's now become compulsory viewing :)

I don't think Kate Humble knows what he's up to.

Is Chris Packham the lovechild of Jools Holland? The way he speaks and his mannerism would suggest so. Not a bad thing.

Ah bugger, didn't watch it last night! Must return our viewing to BBC1 later, we sat and laughed our heads off the other night at Vicar In A Tutu! Must start paying more attention from herein on!

Is it me, or does Packham have some kind of 'tic'...just watch him...it's very errm... Jack Douglas-esque! (i.e. he of Carry On Films...you know...waaheeeey! :lbf:)

Anyway, good man for doing it, and that Kate Humble is a pretty clueless bint all round imo!

I also thought that he reminded me of Jools Holland. I do think that he is hard on Ms Humble sometimes, the way he talks overs over her. But then she is pretty clueless

I can't also stop thinking that only a Smiths fan would attempt this.

Judging by the audience Morrissey got in the studio when he was on The One Show the Beeb are not short of Moz fans so I doubt they'd mind. :)

Hope they don't have Bill Odie back. He's gone bonkers apparantly and he hates Morrissey.
