Songs you intentionally sing incorrectly?

I'd Love To
"so again I lay awake in a trance, I just wet my pants"

Sheila, Take A Bow
"boot this grimy old world in the crotch dear"

You Just Haven't Earned It Yet, Baby

"Today I am remembering the time
When they pulled me back
And held me down
And smacked me on the ass and said..."

I don't really know where this one came from, but now it's stuck

I think "life" is a better lyric (sorry Moz). The original is more about senses than emotions.

Also change it to "something must have gone wrong" in In The Future.. I think he confounded some critics with his positive spin on that line (which I like), so I sing it as the original "pope of mope" would've been expected to.

Woah, I thought it was 'life'?! hahah woops, I'll just have to keep on singing that then :D

Can only think of incorrectly, on purpose lyrics from the latest album...

When I last spoke to Paris.

And,

I'm throwing my arms around Carol.

Try singing it yourselves, it fits, perfectly.

I'd have to agree, 'life' would fit better with the rest of the song.

:p You speak the truth.

I need a Smiths/Moz complete lyric book because shame on me....

..until last night when I was reading the lyric book to My Early Burglary Years..

I thought the first line in "I've Changed My Plea" was
I'm standing in the dark instead of I'm standing in the dock

&

I thought he was saying "see how your rose spoils again" instead of
see how your rules spoil the game.

Man, that completely changed the entire meaning of the song for me.

Wonder what else I'm singing incorrectly. lol.

It's okay, I thought this originally too :o

I don't have any laughable additions to this thread, I'm sorry. :(

But in, I know very well how I got my name I sing "Southern ways..." instead of "Sullen ways.." Because I'm a Southern lady and I just like it better. ;)

The song goes...

He Knows (he knows)
Or, I think he does
because when I lived
in the Arse of the world...

But I sing "when I lived in the icicle world" even after I learned the correct lyric.

Dock of course makes sense, but I too had an image of the character standing in his cell, in the dark, awaiting trial.
