So Moz can't get a record deal then

Eventually, enough promo copies will be sent out that it’ll get leaked somewhere.
Let‘s be honest, if he self-released (ooo-er, missus) one person would buy it, post the WeTransfer link here and you’d all be on it like flies on shite.
You think it is that bad?

I kind of wish he would do what Paul Westerberg does. Paul records a lot in his basement, which is obviously not how Morrissey recorded Bonfire. Paul then releases the songs in different streaming places, for free (I think) under different names and fans find them. It really endears him to the fans, and they have fun finding these songs. Moz has already given away half of Bonfire in live shows anyway.

Chris Brown, a known girlfriend beater is on RCA records.

Anthony Kiedis who admitted he had sex with a 13 year old when he was in his 20s, is on Warner.
Iggy Pop who wrote a song about doing the same thing is on Universal Music Group.

Don't forget about the numerous rappers who've been charged with sexual and physical assault and well as boasting about being drug dealers and being in gangs still have record contracts.

Morrissey's said some shocking things in some people's opinions. That's it.

We live in a truly f---ed up society.

Definite views both ways - based on what, I ask? Genuinely interested.
You can find my answer in the thread So Moz can’t a record deal.

He can’t get a deal because he no longer sells enough records to justify the enormous hassle of taking him on board. The pattern of fall outs and rants (often personalised) blaming record company personnel for everything and anything is long established.

It truly is shocking.

All of your above is ‘whataboutery’ and has nothing to do with Morrissey.
In addition to that, he’s only recently debuted songs live from Bonfire: he did similar in May 2007, and Refusal (albeit following a delay) was released in Feb 2009.
There’s nothing like creating a drama.

All true, but he wasn’t spreading far-right videos in 2007.

This is the crux of it. Labels know he won't "play the PR game", he will be very demanding, and will probably blame them in public when the chart placings don't meet his expectations. It has nothing to do with his music, sales or even his political views. He's had, what, 15 record labels - they've just had enough.

It's not really about playing the PR game. The only marketing measure that seriously affects sales is having your songs played on the radio. Indie stations and/or Radio 2 play-listed at least one new single off all of his albums from the 1980s to the Dog on a Chain era when they stopped because his views had become so toxic, and any station supporting him just got masses of flack.
He could do zero interviews, make zero appearances on Jools Holland, do zero promotional concerts etc. but as long as R2 stick his new song on their playlist, sales will be enough. The withdrawal of their support has had a devastating impact. My hunch is that Radio 2 could potentially start playing his new stuff again but the indie ones probably never will.

Yes, it all comes down to return on investment. The labels don't think Moz is worth taking a chance on anymore. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out - whether he self-releases, has a resurgence or if he keeps playing ever-smaller venues on into retirement.

Bonfire is dead.

Central has directly connected it to white supremacy.

Record companies will believe Harvard - so there's no scope for an alternative opinion.

I think the only hope is to clearly distance himself from Central or fire Central. And move on to Alain's material.

Why is the American elite university Harvard suddenly brought up?

Someone wrote a paper on him -

Salon did a piece on it:

Black Pigeon Speaks (BPS), the white nationalist channel Exley focused his report on, has just over 217,000 subscribers as of August 2017. Still, that’s not an insubstantial following. In the six years that BPS has been broadcasting he has recorded more than 150 videos which have cumulatively been viewed nearly 25 million times. And there are a lot of right-wing broadcasters with comparable followings to BPS’s. In the aggregate, these channels, which are spreading a similar white nationalist ideology, are prevalent on YouTube.

No one's found it yet - but I'd say the place to start digging for a connection to Central is Sam Melia - who was in For Britain.

He doesn't have a deal, that much is obvious... but there's much we don't know about it. Is he getting unacceptable offers, no offers, etc.? We can guess - his difficult reputation precedes him - they don't like BOT - etc. I just wonder if there is a line in the sand date for Morrissey where out of frustration alone he'll look into self-releasing BOT? Or will he just wait this out indefinitely?
