I heard about this and was not happy. I love Paul McCartney but he's losing his self-respect by appearing on a trashy program like The X Factor.

did you know artists have to "pay" to appear on x-factor!!! as its apparently a great piece of advertisement. It's a shame it has to be this way, i mean all paul wants to do is appear on t.v(same with other artists) but he gets stick for doing it. Its a no win situation for some artists and a sorry state of affairs for the music industry in general

The jump in sales on a Monday for acts that appear on x Factor is nuts - probably a bit like the day after TOTP back in the day. There is so little music television now especially for pop artists its dictating the chart just now.
So I can see why the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga are queueing up to do it but can't see what it will add to McCartney's sales that a stand alone interview or documentary wouldn't just as well...and a little bit classier for an artist of his stature, no?
Ah well anything to punt those Remasters eh?!
