Give the man a break. I witnessed this last night, we waited near the bus. There was a throng of screaming women, literally screaming, when he left the venue. It is a security risk in America, in Buenos Aires or whatever where the people were patiently waiting and he went out and signed stuff, no problem. But Americans are MANIACS. He was covered on three sides by security to get into the bus, and he looked tired AS HE SHOULD, he put on a rocking show.

Ever worked retail? Ever left your name tag on and left to take a break and someone asked you to help them and you thought "OMG FML, go away I'm tired and hungry."? Morrissey's name tag IS HIS FACE and the people aren't asking for a book or a movie, they want him to give them his signature and profess their soul and all that. Cut him some slack. He did his job, he doesn't owe anyone overtime.

Taking the time for the people that lift you up and buy your records and make you a living is part of your job when you're a celeb. I think it's rubbish when a musician can't do a 20 minute walk up to a gated off area by the bus to shake a few hands and sign a few albums. I have seen many bands and met most of them. Morrissey was really the only one who just couldn't find the time.
As I said, I'm a huge fan. But I feel he owes his fans more sometimes. After all, we still sit here buying up records and tickets while he cancels shows, publicly says embarrassing statements, and pretty much states that he refuses to put out any more music because the big wigs don't want to invest in him.
I know I'll be attacked again for stating my opinions...but that's okay. Troll away.

When Morrissey first appeared and said "Sorry..we're open" I thought.. here we go with a 30 minute set and walk off, but considering him looking tired, it was a good show in a nice venue with slower songs in the set list. During the third song HSIN, Jessie had some amp trouble when he does all the feedback stuff for this song, both him and Morrissey were staring at the amp, then it sounded better and after that he started feeding off the energy of the crowd... and it got better.

I haven't seen a stage rush in San Diego in awhile, but when Kristeen finished her set, the semi-stage rush happened and the look on the elite security dorks faces... was like oh shit, I guess we need to work and they started to panic. Nice choke hold by Morrissey's skinny security guy on the first guy that got on stage.

I wish Morrissey would stop the Meat is Murder film in the back drop...we got it. I am a vegetarian too, but it's just awful and people stop wearing leather shoes/belts (you can't be that stupid to wear a leather jacket) to Morrissey concerts even if you aren't a vegetarian or a strong supoorter of Animal Rights.

Show was incredible. His voice was perfect, struggled to find a note within the first three notes of singing but figured it out quick and sang the rest beautifully and strong. Some of the banter touched on the Jimmy Kimmel thing, some self deprecation, accepted all the presents handed to him, was handed a get well card and opened and read it and stuck it in his pocket right on stage, even took a teddy bear or something and stuck it in his back pocket like the glads for the duration of the song. It's a bit of a blur, more will come back to me as the day goes on, but my impression was that he was very fit and strong and loved being there, it even seemed like he didn't particularly want to leave the stage after the encore. The band wore faded red Superman shirts. The background was a matador standing like Stuart Sutcliffe. He took off his shirt as usual during LMKY and didn;t look particularly anemic to me. :)horny:) There's a new song in the intro, a folk song that went on for an eternity, the chorus being "My country tis of thee blah, blah for the people blah, or something." :o I was too nervous to pay attention but it literally lasted 10 minutes. And in the clips was a shot of Pasolini's gravestone, then a clip of the Salford Lads Club with young boys in front shot with an 8mm camera. No music during these. Eerie and awesome. Please, Please, Please was particularly haunting and beautiful, I cried. I always cry but it was sung PERFECTLY. Started the show in a "camo chic" green shirt, then pink, then pink again after the shirt toss. He was full woman last night and beautiful. Lots of invaders, all very respectful. some got in some kisses on the cheek :thumb: At one point I had massive agida when he was bent over giving hand shakes and there were people behind him and people in front, he could've fallen into the pit area sooooo easily, there was no barrier. The security was particularly tight. I snuck into the pit once and was booted for lack of a bracelet. It seems, with these kind of things, that the key is to be friends with one of the Moz thugs, becuase he was going nto the crowd and hand selecting people to be allowed into the pit area without a ticket, so it was by the end of the night all the usual regulars. Depressing. GIVE OTHER PEOPLE A CHANCE, THUGS! The regular security was crabby too, they wouldn;t even let me step into hand him a letter and I was in the front row behind the barrier. :Grrrr, whatever, can't say it wasn't one of the best concerts I'd ever been to. Morrissey petted the speakers during Paris but I missed it because I was so agitated that someone was waving flowers at him the whole time and blocking the view, I was cursing the flower lady and missed the best part of the show. :p Anyway, Morrissey looks fabulous and healthy. I know anemia doesn't exactly show, but he seemed healthy and in particular... happy... which is lovely to see. Also the La de das at the end of TBWTTIHS...be still my heart. Sung perfectly.

The pause during Speedway he sang (he should do an acapella album ffs, he doesn;t even need a band) something that sounded familiar but I can't place it, the jist being about being in love and could it be you? Forgive me for not remembering! It'll be on youtube no doubt.

The security guy handing the wristbands was definitely NOT handpicking people or "regulars." All i did was ask politely and he gave me and everyone in my group a wristband. I go to 90% of Morrissey shows in California. Not to try to make myself sound like a real cool guy or something but im pretty easy to remember because of my appearance. Ive never ever tried to befriend those security guys or anything of the sort. All i did was ask and not seem like some pathetic, desperate, grease ball, fan boy like those "moz krew" turds.

Did anyone go up on stage? i know it's tradition in MozAngeles..

Are you COMPLETELY unaware of what happened to John Lennon? I am sure Morrissey would love to stop and sign autographs for his fans outside venues but whilst the USA allows anybody and everybody to walk around with a gun in their pocket, it will NEVER happen. I expect Morrissey is also conscious that somebody from the New World Order or illuminati could 'take him out' during a signing session and then blame it on a crazed fan, so this is yet another reason he wouldn't do it. The fact that Moz allows fans to get on stage is a HUGE show of faith on his part. And WHAT embarrassing statements has Morrissey ever made? He's certainly never embarrassed me. The moaners on this site are unbelievable. Call yourself fans? Pah!

Thank you for that tid-bit of info. I'm taking my 12-year-old son to the Nashville show and we're hoping to be able to get to stand down front for a little bit. My son's been listening to the Smiths and Morrissey since before birth!

haha. Im sorry. But Morrissey doesnt mind strolling in to Soundgarden shows in LOS ANGELES of all places without fear. And I know youre really not comparing Moz to Lennon. Give me a break, Illuminati?? New World Order??? Okay..Time out! Back to your basement.
Troll on!

Beware the wrath of the fisted.

Well first off, Im no moron haha.
If he does in fact respect his fans, he has a funny way of showing it.

For instance we waited outside a venue for two hours after a show and he couldnt take the time
to stop and sign or shake a hand. He quickly gave us a wave and rushed into a car and
pulled away.
Giving his audience a one hour show when hes got a HUGE back catalog (needs to take some
hints from the cure who not only play for three hours but play the songs YOU actually want to hear)
But I guess if I were him and saw all of the rubbish on so-low I would run from my fans too.

Im not knocking the guy, personally I think hes bloody brilliant!
I was really just trying to make a point of what hostile and ridiculous people
a lot of the trolls in this forum are.
All the verbal abuse is funny to me. You calling me a moron further proves my point.
Good luck!

No that just proves you're a moron who generalizes to make a point that holds no water. Morrissey never comes out to shake hands with waiting fans. Wtf are you talking about? The show's over. He's given all he's got. The day Morrissey takes hints from the cure will be very very cold in hell. Get over it. You want him to tuck you in bed too?

And here we go again.

First of all it is he who lifts up UP, not the other way around. Morrissey isn't a job. He's just Morrissey. He has no obligation to sign records or shake fan's hands after the gig. After the last song just go home or out for a drink with your friends. Fans who need attention from their heroes are creepy. Why do you need signatures on your records. If you want to shake the man's hand that badly get up on stage and make the effort as others have and continue to do so. There's no point bringing up the fact you have met other bands. Other bands are not Morrissey. You can't have been a fan that long if this is all news to you. You're not being attacked. You're being informed so listen and learn Anonymous... if that is your real name.

He's here all week folks! :)

Can anyone help idenitfy which song he sang a bit more precisely ? I am trying to keep track of them, see http://www.morrissey-solo.com/threa...peedway-this-tour?p=1986756670#post1986756670

Thanks a lot !

Yes I've been a fan since I was 15 (33 now.) I dont "need" an autograph. But it is a nice gesture when a band takes the time to give back even if that means a simple hand shake. After all its our money that feeds the ego and buys those fancy shirts he shreds every night. Actually we (the fans) are the reason he is even able to perform his short set every night.
It's really not a big deal I was just saying its kind of lame. Much like the bullies who troll this site.
It really is no wonder why he doesn't want to meet his "fans".

Oh please. Get over yourself. Moz can't give his fans more than a 90 minute set? Yeah I can see how a handshake is equivalent to tucking me into bed. Troll on.
