Oh I don't know. I don't think Russell brand is a serious 'monster'. He is very open about all pit falls in his life and has many weak spots, which he talks about and tries to discuss. I think he is very troubled and has a hole inside him that he needs to keep filling with XYZ. His Paxman interview, along with others like Maitlis are good, but you can see he's a tricky man, and could have many things to hide, despite being open and funny - he made me laugh in his Paxman interview, despite the recent allegations, I also I can't help being disturbed at his stare, before the allegations I was not disturbed when I saw his face - this is the power of the public media and rumour, you name and face can be stained overnight.

You’re correct it’s both. They all knew what Brand was like back in the day he was going after Right wing establishment figures like Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. It’s when he turned his guns on the likes of Joe Biden, the MSM and govt controlled narratives like Covid 19 that he sealed his fate.
Ironically it’s now after he has seemingly worked very hard to turn his life around and reign in his more base desires that he is getting hit with decades-old accusations.
And you’re also right that the govt is using this opportunity to further push its censorship creep and also interestingly the MSM is using the allegations as a wrap around smear to discredit everything that Russell is talking about, which may denote that he is somewhat over the target.
I don’t know what legal advice he is getting right now but I thought it was a mistake not directly addressing the allegations today,

Exactly that. Who knows, maybe Channel 4 and The Sunday Times did manage to find some women with genuine concerns about Brand? But the allegations were almost hidden away beneath a sea of - I saw Brand flying with the devil. If that is repeated often enough, it becomes true.

It is precisely that, that can set someone off if they have been victimized by someone. To see him presenting himself as some sort of decent, civilized self help expert, when their memories of him are so different. It can be a huge trigger and prompt them to want to tell what they know of him, to protect others, if nothing else. Victims who do not come forward feel immensely guilty that they are keeping this 'secret' that may be putting others in danger.
