Rubber Rings ~ The songs that made you cry, the songs that saved your life...

fantastic [TJIFA]

Ya, no doubt... hauntingly beautiful...

Park the car at the side of the road
You should know
Time's tide will smother you
And I will too
When you laugh about people who feel so
Very lonely
Their only desire is to die
Well, I'm afraid
It doesn't make me smile
I wish I could laugh
Ya, no doubt... haunting...

But that joke isn't funny anymore
It's too close to home
And it's too near the bone
It's too close to home
And it's too near the bone
More than you'll ever know...

This is the only Morrissey song that has literally brought tears to me eyes. This, and Stretch Out and Wait.

I suppose it did come off a bit gay at that.

Not really. What was it about that song in particular?
I haven't thought of it as a tear-jerker, compared to I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday, for example.
In fact I'll throw that one is as mine, but it's not the only one

Props for having a sense of humor.

It even comes in a 10-hr version. An entirely selfless gift to humanity.

Songs that move me are very rarely slow or traditionally sad. If I feel a visceral connection to a song, I get very emotional. But this usually only happens when I am driving, or very drunk. And no, those two experiences have never intertwined.

I don't really remember the NFD thing too well; I think one day a long time ago it was on and I was lying in bed and I started crying for no reason when he got to the "you want the day to come sooner" part. But I was a kid, like 17 or something.
