I think I am actually. I hope they spend their rest of their lives in a pitch black room with no luxury where they can reflect in silence. Death is too easy for these evil men. It's exactly what they want.

Oh my god. it's Robby!

I said yes, though I did disagree with your usage of the word "happy" in the question
however, I am against state sanctioned murder in all forms
in this case it seems like these guys deserve death, but its a slippery slope, here in the USA
we have thousands of inmates on "death row" who fill up our courts with their appeals
and then anywhere from 30 to 50 are killed a year, probably a couple a year who aren't guilty*
so yeah, death penalties suck, especially since it doesn't deter crime

*=mainly in Texas, Florida & Oklahoma where the justice system is terribly incompetent and corrupt

I agree we can not return to the death penalty as a nation for murder. The police are not trustworthy enough, they've been proved to many times to be prepared to allow innocents to suffer to close cases. However this is a cut and dry case, and as the death penalty is still on the statute books for cases of treason, and as these fools are British citizens and they have stated they see there act, as an act of war. I believe we should have hung them both, perfectly happy with that.

Yes. I don't believe in the death penalty, and life meaning life and forty-five years minimum respectively is fine by me.

They'll both get the shit kicked out of them regularly by other prisoners, and the odds can't be great on the younger one surviving to the end at all, let alone with teeth and eyes intact.

All in all a good day for British justice, in stark relief to the disgrace of the sentence given out to the scumbag who killed that poor sod for telling someone not to cycle on the pavement.

Yes, I found that disgusting. It's awful to know that the murderer will be out in 2 years on good behaviour. He killed an innocent disabled man for christ's sake!

Bring back the death penalty. These bastards don't deserve to sap the worlds oxygen. The lowest of the low.
Absolutely right. They should be hung drawn and quartered. In that, in Henry V111 reign that would have happened and it would have been no less than they deserve

Sentences for such atrocities should include the death sentence, no more, no less. A life for a life; but the problem is that the pc brigade always seem to be on the side of the perpetrator, never mind the victims. Disgusting

Fraid not. More likely they will be treated as heroes by the gangs of radical Muslims already behind bars.

It has nothing to do with political correctness.
At least we no longer live in a medieval barbaric society.

Anthony Burgess wrote "A Clock Work Orange" based on his experience of being a victim of violent attack.
He valued human rights because he didn't want to Britain to become an autocratic society.

These horrible two culprits will be tormented by media and we won't forget about the victim.

I'm alright with the sentences, like Johnny says, they won't have an easy run of it inside.

I think it's quite telling the amount of proper lifers who try to off themselves and those that succeed. Taking it purely as a punishment, if prison was the better option why do they take death before prison as an option?

aww shucks, I just get all tingly inside when its implied that if you are against "the death penalty" then you are a hippie or whatever
thanks, I needed that, especially living in a country that executes upwards of 10 thousand people a year

It crossed my mind seeing them in their police vans being driven off to Belmarsh with all the roads closed at tax payers expense with protection officers flanking them and a helicopter flying overhead that I would have thrown open the doors of the Old Bailey and made the pair of them bloody walk and let the British public provide a suitable escort.

Sort of related to this thread, a tumblr that gives a pictorial account of the "last meal" requests of murderers convicted to death. Morbidly fascinating.
