That is quite sad, he was an inoffensive old queen although the programme died thirty years prior to his demise.

What a bore!

What did his boyfriend have to say?

Richard was not gay. His long-time partner Katherine Apanovich would have a lot to say about that. I knew his producer (from Countdown) and he confirmed his reputation as Richard Twice-Nightly. I met him when I was on A TV show recorded in Newcastle. It was funny at the time, because he was the only person to be late with 20 minutes to go till recording. We looked out of the Green Room window and there he was, bedraggled, dragging himself up the path. When he arrived, he was charm personified. A lovely chap, with time to talk. And he's the brother-in-law of my boss.

Be honest now!...I'm not casting curtains but I always thought he was....just his mannerisms....no offence taken by the way.
