Req: Moon Over Kentucky

Well, someone had to make the thread and ask if anyone recorded it ;)

Oh, I do hope so. This is something I very much want to hear!

Sure. Here it is: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O8QQ2SIV

It's from Sparks' second album "A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing" from 1972, released before they had their worldwide break-through with "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us", that triggered Morrissey's interest.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the Sparks link. Interesting song - you can really see how the vocal stylings are an influence on our Man. Especially the yodel-esque parts, which appear in a number of Moz songs.

On another note, I believe this song was played about 8 months ago on that LA radio show that Moz guest DJed on.

I only know a few Sparks songs, but my fav. still remains "Angst in my Pants".

Speaking of Sparks, should anybody be interested in other recordings by them, please check my list at: http://www.sillysausage.eu/Live recordings.htm.

It goes without saying that I can also send the official recordings.

Best,

Ruud.

Damn dude you got heaps there, I would love to raid that collection, im severley lacking good quality recordings of sparks in concert. I ripped their DEE VEE DEE audio which is about as good as I've gotten. I don't know where I can start with requesting stuff from that list though, so much!

Pokey,

Just let me know what era you like most and I'll let you know what good recordings there are. I'd be happy to share them with anybody interested. There's not enough people around who like Sparks..

Best,

Ruud.

Favorite Era is the run of albums Kimono My House/Propoganda/Indiscreet/Big Beat ... one of my favorite ever run of consecutively amazing albums by any band! Any good quality recordings with songs featured from these albums would be great!

Okay, let me sort out some nice recordings from that era. I'll get back soonest with the upload links.

Best,

Ruud.
