Morrissey's 'California Son' album will be Record Of The Week on Radio 2 next week.
It is also Record of The Week at Radio Trojka (the main station in Poland), and Record Of The Month in Germany's Rolling Stone.
Morrissey appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show this week in New York singing "Morning Starship".

Amazing, innit, to see him up there with Madonna, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran - three of the most successful recording artists of all time. And Morrissey, just a middlingly (commercially) successful in the indie world. He owes so much to Radio 2.

luck had nothing to do with it,they think California son is more radio friendly and more suited to a radio 2 crowd.

Err, not really. They gave Spent the Day in Bed huge amounts of airplay, and they nearly always give him 'album of the week' with his new releases. Not doing so for LIHS just showed how queasy he was making them feel.
