Saw my hero last night.

He opened with "I'm Not Like Everybody Else"... which was my highlight.
Saddened he didn't do "Waterloo Sunset", but that's alright, he can do what he wants.

I think I was one of 3 non-white people there, and one of the few below the age of 35. Most seemed to be fans, others just drunken girlfriends wanting to dance and be obnoxious.

Still, it was unbelievable seeing him.

I rarely go to concerts but I had to be here.
Now I regret missing two shows (Brian Wilson & Mark E. Smith), but am looking forward to my next one in October (Pet Shop Boys).

You do realize he was co-founder of The Kinks don't you?

The recent solo album he released is actually his first real solo album.

Buy some Kinks albums and see why they're the most underrated (and best) British band of the 60s and early 70s.

You do realize He could have figured that out by reading the answer after you started the thread - I've mentioned the Kinks and what a fab concert I once saw. So people read the threads from beginning / but wolve don't know the band kinks or else He wouldn't have said what He said and finally wanting some songs from Ray

Wow, so many posts Maid@!

It's just strange to me for anyone to mention Ray Davies as being one of those names you hear.
It's as if someone someone said John Lennon is one of those names you hear all the time but don't know his music, hehe.

As far as those other two Ray Davies CDs, well, they weren't proper albums.

The album is pretty strong actually. It doesn't grab you by the throat or anything but it does have some quite nice messages in it, as well as Ray's famous wit and humor.

And yes, I knew you'd be jealous about the PSB, hehe.

But Ray Davies is also a fine artits and one of the best ever written from Him is actually Days :

Now that is some hell of poetry even when You imaging Kirsty sings it and know she's gone

I think her version (1989) is so great even now - Hear it and read the words - Shame she passed away

Yeah love the song also when it is the original one. But I do think it is a shame that she passed away on a holiday trip - I think she was amazing.
