A brief article in light of the 35th anniversary of William, It Was Really Nothing yesterday.
Discussing the Billy Liar and Billy MacKenzie suggested explanations (MacKenzie gets one sentence in Autobiography).

I'd probably guess at Billy Liar since he seems to watch films obsessively.

But then there is the mystery of him always wearing a ring on his wedding finger (at least I think it's that finger).

And why does he burn through so many intense friendships? Are they all nothing?
