It's gotta be Queen.

Re: Queen Vs. Abba

I don't think either of them were that good, i can't really enjoy listening to them..

If Freddie didn't die, would they be as big as they are? bit like John Lennon

I don't think either was the best band of the 70s, but Queen totally kicks ABBA's ass.

Freddie Mercury had the Devil's pipes, and Brian May was not only a great stylist, he designed and built his own guitar, and was an astrophysicist to boot. What a band. :guitar:

the best overall was

After loathing them since I was very young, I've recently grown to enjoy ABBA. What on earth has come over me?
However I will never like Queen. Oh no.

I can't choose. Sorry.

Ok...I couldn't resist...:D

the start of My Best Friend is great, and they have lots of great sounding moments. The songs are weird, but the band is unique and they had great production if you like that sort of thing. I voted for Queen. They were the band I actually listened to more in the 70's, though I had some ABBA singles. I owned several Queen albums and listened to them regularly. I was more into Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin though.

Childhood memories...sang it to myself in the mirror...:p

Since the question refers to the 70s, I'll go for ABBA. I much preferred Queen in the 80s.
