You know what I love in all these You-Tubey videos? In every one, you can hear at least one person in the near distance of the recorder, uttering "Oh, my god..." with the awe of a person who's just witnessed a massive auto wreck or the birth of a child.

Making me very, very excited for 8 days from now...

Interesting lyric changes..

"stuck like a boar between arches"

"dressed in your brother's bridal veil"

"i still don't know what drugs are"

"she said i know you and you cannot sing
i said of course i can you silly thing"

all of this was skipped:

We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
And talk about precious things
Like love and law and poverty
Oh, these are the things that kill me

We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
And talk about precious things
But the rain that flattens my hair ...
Oh, these are the things that kill me

All their lies about make-up and long hair, are still there

Past the Pub who saps your body
And the church who'll snatch your money
The Queen is dead, boys
And it's so lonely on a limb
Past the Pub that wrecks your body
And the church - all they want is your money
The Queen is dead, boys
And it's so lonely on a limb

The end of the song has:

"life is very long when you're lonely" x2

still pretty rockin' version of it

Glorious:) Just passioned a little, mmm.
The Queen is still very dead anno 2007:

Farewell to (this lands cheerless) these marches
(hemmed in) stuck like a boar between arches
her very Lowness with her head in (a) sling
(I'm truly sorry - but) it sounds like a wonderful thing
I say Charles, don't you ever crave
to appear on the front of the Daily mail
dressed in your (Mother's) brother's bridal veil?
And so, I checked all the registered historical facts
(and) I was shocked into shame to discover
how I'm the 18th pale descendent
of some old queen or other
has the world changed, or (have) I changed?
has the world changed, or (have) I changed?
as (some) just 9-year old tough peddles drugs
I say God I (never even knew) still don't know what drugs (were) are
(And) so, I broke into the Palace
with a sponge and a rusty spanner
she said: "I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said: ("that's nothing - you should hear me play piano") "of course I can you silly thing"
We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
and (we can) talk about precious things
but when you're tied to your Mother's apron
no one talks about castration

(We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
and we can talk about precious things
like love and law and poverty
these are the things that kill me
We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry
and we can talk about precious things
but the rain that flattens my hair
these are the things that kill me
)

(Passed the Pub that who saps your body
and the church who'll snatch your money
the Queen is dead, boys
and it's so lonely on a limb
Pass the pub that wrecks your body
and the church - all they want is your money
the Queen is dead, boys
you can trust me, boys
)

life is very long, when you're lonely x2

?And what does he say in the end?

From Passions site about the 26 October 1997 performance:

"As during the Smiths days, Morrissey skipped the second and third "We could go for a walk where it's quiet and dry" verses, but he made many unheard lyric changes, such as "Farewell to these marches, stuck like a pig between arches", "Her lowness with her head in a sling, I'm not sorry! It sounds like a wonderful thing", "When I was nine I never knew what drugs were!" and "We can go for a walk where it's quiet and dry and talk about silly things"."

Also omitted is:

All those lies about make-up and long hair are still there

Great video! I can pick out my sad, pathetic, exuberant self dancing around down there on the floor.

As discussed in other threads and on the main board, he was really out of it at the beginning of this show-- mic problems, etc. He even stopped "Boy w/ Thorn" and got mad at his sound man for a while.

Anyway, we noticed the abbreviated song too. He had finished the whole thing the night before in Spokane. It's a testament to this awesome band that they were able to roll (nay, ROCK!) with his mood.:D

Thank you!!! This is a really good video. The sound quality is suprisingly good for being from recorded on a digital camera. This really made my day...thanks for posting!! Even if he skipped verses, or whatever he DIDN'T do....I still enjoyed it. :)

Thanks go to the cameraman, I'd say:)
About the lyrics - I got the impression that it is more or less usual live version, i.e. it had never been performed live from A to Z.
