which is best?

I missed it because

a) I was up allllll night the night before on an essay and slept through

b) my housemate fell down the stairs

c) my hamster is ill and we had to take him to the PDSA clinic in Birmingham

d) [[other ideas]].

I can't say ill cos I used that last time

I was late because a squirrel dropped out of a gull's mouth and blocked my path

that has been used

LOL. That beats any of mine

I'd love to see this woman's face if I told her that!! :D

I was far too busy doing more important things

Here's a silly idea, why not tell the truth? The world is full of liars, that's why we have politicians, journalists and Internet forum users.

Comparing my excuses to get out of boring health and safety days is hardly the same as the way the political institutions and machines deliberately keep the people enslaved now is it?

So far I still like the squirrel one best

Maybe I will just tell her that I could think of better things to do than attend a 6 hour seminar on health and safety in the workplace in preparation for work experience in an MP's office. Yeah, sounds a risky business to me, too

No you're right, it's not, however you might want to grow a backbone and tell the people you do not want to do a health and safety training course. Alternatively you could just see the course out as it will benefit you more than anyone else?
