Post Whatever You Are Thinking At This Very Moment

What makes you think it was a brown recluse? I was bitten by one decades ago. I have a scar on my calf, near my ankle.
Well, I’m not sure, really. It looks bad, though, and is burning and itchy. It looks like it may be spreading a bit. I was in the Garden shed behind my house on Saturday and that’s when it happened, I think. I don’t even remember getting bit by anything that day. I never felt any discomfort until I was showering later that night and then felt the burn. I looked closer and I thought it was just a mosquito bite but it got worse the next day and it’s still giving me a lot of trouble. It could have been anything, I guess, but Brown Recluse came to mind. Whatever it was got me good!

Sounds like it could be cellulitis. I got that when I think a gnat bit me in the shed on my hand, very similar to your experience. The shed had recently been creosoted so I wondered whether the chemicals had got into the insect then into me. Hand blew up twice the size. Worst part was sitting in A&E watching people come and go for 6 hours while being studiously ignored. And that was 10 years ago, so I'd get in early if I were you. Was very easily fixed when they finally saw me though.

Holy moly. I’m on it. Seeing a doctor tomorrow. Thanks!

I`m thinking about picking up some tickets to see Tears For Fears this summer. I discussed this with my sister to see if she had any other commitments that day and she doesn`t and she said it would also be cool if we could go. It would be a childhood dream come true for me. I tortured my family with My Songs From The Big Chair cassette every morning as I was getting ready to go to school. I was obsessed with them especially Roland. They are performing not too far from where I live and I think it would be totally fun to go.

;)Don't you just love it when a music review calls a band, uh, 'vulnerable gopniks with hard stares' even though there's nothing gopnik-ish about them... (Russian) music journalism in a nutshell.
Thanks to this post I think I just learnt the Russian for "chav". (y)

TFF had some amazing songs. They were one of the first bands I listened to and those first songs still blow me away.
Ah the piano intro to Head over Heels... and the build up...so great! ( I talk like old dogs remembering dance hall dayz)(Hey, another great song!!)

One of the few people whom I actually considered az a writer has died.

Expect no Central Post.

Oh but the only reason there wasn't a tribute post for Silvio must be because the MC "editor" is not European ( or too young to know who he was).
Cuz who doesn't love an old orange concrete-spreading creepy populist in the M team? Absolutely nobody!

im reading 100 years of solitude, which i started when i was about 19 and only got half way through. im again at the half way mark and it's amazing how much of it i still remember. im determined to finish it this time round, if only to see if turns out to be about anything other than incestuous degenerates.

Imagine being a website that hosts a contest every month, saying you will announce the results on the 5th of June and then you just keep delaying this! It's the 15th already and the results are nowhere to be found! What a bummer. I know I haven't won anything but I for one wish to know how many points I got.

You can actually read??
Interesting.

If you believe in such nonsense as astrology it should at least be fun, not "My daughter is unsocial because she was a premature baby born 2 months prior to her term, so her astrological sign and her actual destiny don't match". This is far from fun. Especially for the daughter.

Thought 1: To rant or not to rant about politics online, that is the question I ask staring at some emotional 550 words google keep note last edited last night at 01:39 AM hoping it will answer or at least stare back...

Thought 2: I want to scream and curse aloud and punch walls and get absolutely wasted. What an awesome Friday, my eye is twitching. :thumb: Пиздец

@Pav1ova,

Surprisingly, I also thought today about the appropriateness of arguing about politics on the Internet, including here. I came to the conclusion that the discussion of such topics promises a 100% verbal mess, where no one will really listen to anyone, or even begin to get personal, clogging up the topic. @postwoman has already mocked the Russophobic sentiments of the local users, the result of the discussion, alas, was encouraging. But one thing I can say for sure: Russians are an amazingly sincere people with a colorful history!

So, politics is a rather difficult topic to get to know people through discussions. But to procrastinate another high-profile headline with a sharp statement by Morrissey about politics is always welcome here :D

Well, personally I don't believe in the concept of "Russophobia" much. Seeing someone disrespect Russians simply for being Russian online may piss me off a little (understandably so), but there's a thing that actually robbed me of my hope for a better future in this country, and that's the Russian government and its allies (I'm not speaking of countries, I mean mass media and so on). It's in no way comparable to any anti-Russian statement made online. People's anger may be misdirected and extreme, but it still has a point. I can log off but strangely, outside there is a country that's been getting more and more hostile to political opposition, LGBT people, etc, and that can't fix its own problems (roads, corruption, poverty, elections, the list goes on...) and yet wants to be the Big Brother to save its neighbours from The Evil Western Agenda (aka, I don't know, something that resembles actual democracy and, god forbid, human rights?). And even "not all Russians support putin" sentiment doesn't help. Yeah, I know, I have friends who share my political views, I don't need the validation. And yet for example my mother votes online even after I tell her it's much easier to forge the results of online voting, has been listening to Russian propaganda for years, calls Ukranians slurs and wonders why Russia is hated not realising that maybe her kind of worldview is part of the problem. It's not like she's the minority, especially among people of her generation.
But to be clear I appreciate your opinion nonetheless!
I guess I just had a political rant after all. And it made me feel much, much better. :o
