There are plenty of fine songs on this list (and a few duffers, too). I could understand the "chug rock" comments about Jesse's early co-writes, but I don't think anyone could level that accusation at Smiler With Knife, I'm Not a Man, What Kind of People Live in These Houses?, My Hurling Days Are Done etc.

    Didn't Jesse do Without Music The World Dies ? I would give that 8/10
    Some of these low scores are fecking not Jesse's fault they are M's dumb AF lyrics. I am in the camp that says the only thing saving most modern M songs is the sound of his voice. I do not think Jesse is as bad as some people do when it comes to writing his own songs. He is awesome at certain types of power punk and Cajan-type jams but he is one of the worst at doing Smiths' songs unfortunately.
    What you have to remember is how long he has been in the band now. I think its nearly friggin 20 years. That is not a good list for that amount of time . Smiths were 4 years and most of them would be 8 /10 to 10/10. From 93 to 98. Most of those songs were 07/10 to 10/10

    Edit I marked some of these way the feck up more than I think, as I felt guilty for dragging Jesse on the other post - River Clean deserves
    10/10 though and I Thought You Were Dead and without Music the World Dies and Oblivion are just as good as most songs by Boz and AW

Glad I saw Alain’s last show at Hammersmith. The setlists since his return have been an absolute joy for those of us (the silent majority?) that prefer morrissey the artist from 1988 - 2008. He was untouchable through this period & so were they. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’ll go a 3 on that one, so he’s level with Jesse on at least some level ;)

My post was less of a Jesse bashing and more just a reality check to some of the music that came before it - with the sad news of Alain’s resignation and what looks like a final break from Moz again. The gangs all gone…

I've had to sanitise some of the data, which has caused some minor changes to the scores.
There's no change to the top 3, but the scores are revised as below:

Fair point. TNPD has also only been heard via live sets, so guess we'll need to include Oblivion.
I need to double check whether Tobias co-wrote Kerouac's Crack.
