I've heard that 'Please Help the Cause Against the Lonliness' is a really terrbile moz-song, with poor lyrics and all. but i cant help loving it. do you all hate it?

yeah, its lovely. i cant even really agree with the lyrics being all that poor! i just saw that i played it in iTunes 13 times since yesterday! i just got it like two days ago (witch explaines the intense playing!)

i read somewhere that the song was written for sandie shaw? - that meaning that the song was written for her to sing?

Of the three versions available, that one is by far the best.
The demo version without Sandie is very dull; and the official single release with her on lead vocals is much less effective.

I think it starts really well, with quite funny lyrics and a very singable tune ... but it really peters out toward the end. The line "I'm so young" is pretty crap/meaningless - it just seems to fit the line, and nothing else, yet it is repeated over and over.

I also think it sounds very much like "I Don't Mind If You Forget Me", in terms of tune and tempo, which may be why it was not included on "Viva Hate".

I have to agree with you there.

The line, "would you like to know my inside leg?" is hilarious, but then the "I'm so young" thing is a bit inane, unless it's a reference to the song Lynne Redgrave's character sings in "Smashing Time" "OOoh baby, I'm so young!"

You're quite right, it does sound rather a lot like "I Don't Mind...". Hmmm...
