Very true.
Viva Hate- 'Late Night, Maudlin Street'
Kill Uncle- I'm torn between 'Our Frank' and 'Mute Witness'. At the moment I'm leaning towards the latter.
Your Arsenal- 'Seasick, Yet Still Docked'
Vauxhall and I- My all-time favourite (both from this album and full-stop) is 'Now My Heart Is Full', but I also adore 'Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself'.
Southpaw Grammar- 'Reader Meet Author'
Maladjusted- Easy. 'Maladjusted'. Although since buying the reissue I have grown very fond of 'I Can Have Both'
You Are The Quarry- At the moment it's 'You Know I Couldn't Last'.
Ringleader of the Tormentors- 'On The Streets I Ran', but often I'm more in the mood for 'Life Is A Pigsty' or 'In The Future When All's Well'.
Years Of Refusal- At the moment I'm completely in love with 'Mama'. However, 'It's Not Your Birthday Anymore' and 'I'm OK By Myself' are also outstanding. I rank many of the songs from YOR very highly on my all-time favourites list.
Revised for my current favourites as it changes all the time...
VH- Still 'Late Night, Maudlin Street'
BD- Probably either 'Yes, I Am Blind' or 'November Spawned A Monster', however there are many songs I really love on BD. And yes, I do class it as a 'proper' album.
KU- 'Mute Witness'/'There Is A Place...'/'The Harsh Truth of the Camera Eye' depending on my mood. I feel I may be in a minority with the latter.
YA- This is a
very hard one, but 'Seasick'.
VAI- 'Now My Heart Is Full'. Always.
SG- 'Reader Meet Author' on the original, 'Nobody Loves Us' on the reissue.
Maladjusted- 'Maladjusted'/'Trouble Loves Me' on the original and reissue, again it depends on my mood.
YATQ- 'You Know I Couldn't Last'
ROTT- Again, extremely difficult. I think perhaps it's now 'I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now', but Ringleader is one of my favourite albums so it's very hard to pick.
YOR- This is like choosing between children for me. I just can't pick one, two or even three.
And my least favourites. I don't actually actively dislike the majority of these, but it wouldn't bother me if they hadn't been on the albums in the first place.
VH- 'Bengali In Platforms'.
BD- 'The Last of the Famous International Playboys'
KU- 'Found Found Found' (one exception to the note above
)
YA- 'You're The One For Me, Fatty'
VAI- 'Used To Be A Sweet Boy'
SG- 'Dagenham Dave'
Maladjusted- 'Roy's Keen'. Either that or 'Now I Am A Was' on the reissue.
YATQ- 'All The Lazy Dykes'
ROTT- There actually isn't a single track I'd want to lose from this album- all of them add to the atmosphere, which I think is one of its strengths. However, I'm not really enamoured of 'I Just Want To See The Boy Happy'.
YOR- 'Sorry Doesn't Help'
