Crossing my fingers for a single release this week. It would make sense, considering Cruel World's happening next week, and the fact that Moz gave some kind of indication that it would actually come out "soon" is pretty promising. Friday, perhaps? And this will presumably announce which label he's been signed to, considering that there seems to have been some proper planning this time.
God I hope it's an actual single. By single I mean at least something that has B sides with it. Doesn't have to be physical. I realise that's not gonna happen but give us a B side for god's sake!

I think SER made a bit of a blunder in comparing ‘I am Veronica’ to FOTGTG and TCM. Didn’t Moz also say something about questioning if he still had something to give and this song made him realise he did. It’s hard to judge it based on this one live clip but, I’m not very impressed.

I myself like it.. Its not aiming to set the world on fire and the themes are the ones he had on Jim Jim Falls, in a way...
However this is even more playful and randy , sliding into your pocket and pressing your "top bell"
I can see why some may be unimpressed, but its a poppy taster , I bet the rest of the lp is different.

None of the blockbuster Smiths songs? Where is There Is a Light? Or How Soon Is Now? A festival crowd will want to hear those songs.
They may, but this was a warm and not a festival crowd , in fact the way people were moving around in the video , it didn't seem like there were that many people

Veronica is proof that the upswing continues from the last album. I think the lyrics are quite fitting here, but the melodies and vocal adventures are the real stand out.

Morrissey continues to show that he has an unorthodox pop imagination.

His voice is in fine form, and that final stretch is glorious. I can’t wait to hear the finished version!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fine enough song, I just think they built up our expectations so much that I was expecting something a lot more interesting. This just sounds like an outtake from ‘Dog’

Be patient, its the opening hit .
Like Arse En All , it started with We hate it and fatty ...BUT The lp was much darker.
Trust me when We hate it came out, people thought it was all over (not I )

Be nice if it was this week, I think it will be after Cruel, like the monday after or something - when the crowd goes 'oh yes M is great' and is moist for his wax
These things are like foreplay ,

Now that's a great set-list. Loving the sound of the new single too, very catchy. Hope it comes out soon as stated.

It's a pretty nice setlist, with some decent changes. That said, the first show of any run normally has a few outliers that end up getting dropped as the tour progresses, so there's still plenty of time for old standards like How Soon is Now to creep back in.
