Pete Doherty prevented from entering the US

On Pete Doherty’s Wikipedia page, the part about “Drug abuse and legal problems” is longer than every other section on the page, including the ones to devoted to his work with The Libertines and Babyshambles.
Because of this, Mr. Doherty isn’t really allowed to enter the United States, a fact which was again realized last night. As BrooklynVegan reports, the Libertines/Babyshambles frontman traveled from London to New York yesterday in order to perform at a launch party for the magazine Corduroy. He was to play a collaborative set with the likes of Sean Lennon, Adam Green, and Charlotte Kemp Muhl.
However, upon arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Doherty was met by police officers, who then forced him to take the next flight back to London.
Doherty has been unable to obtain US work visa in recent years and it is believed he attempted to enter the country without one yesterday. Requests for comment from Corduroy were not returned as of press time.
