If I was in a band, I would give the songs the dignity of not ever even attempting to cover them.

An interesting and original cover of the song, how may times have you heard a song like that done in a 1940s-style close harmony vocal interpretation. A lot more exciting then trying to be a note perfect carbon copy of morrissey and marr.
