Oxegen, which is a 3-day festival in Ireland for those of you who don't know, have a list of artists profiles about the acts playing and low and behold Moz is on it despite not being announced as of yet...I'm praying that it's not a mistake!

The festival runs on the 10th, 11th and 12th of July by the way. Here's what they have to say..

When the Irish dates were announced it was stated that there would be no Dubiln date. From that I gussed all along that he would be at some Irish festival but I was thinking it would be the electric picnic.

    what what what?
They have announced the headline acts for each day haven't they? It is unlikely that Morrissey will be playing if it has not been announced. anyone have any other info on this? Maximo, did you only get this incling from the NME website?

No haven't checked the NME site, what did it say on there?

I only saw this today and interestingly he is the only act in their list of 'artist profiles' not to have been announced as of yet. I presumed he'd be playing Electric Picnic too but in fairness seeing as they have the little write up about him it seems quite likely to be true. My reckoning in that they are probably just holding off announcing him yet as they only announce a new bunch of artists to play every few weeks or so...

Hopefully when the next batch of artists are announced he'll be in there!

I'm not going to lie, I just screamed out loud. :blushing: I bought my Oxegen ticket last week. Dear God, please let this be true!
However, I smell a rat :( As far as I know, all the headliners have been confirmed as Kings of Leon, The Killers and Blur. I can't imagine Morrissey playing second fiddle to any of them. I would imagine he will play Electric Picnic...which I will be too broke to go to. :tears:

Think about it for a second. Punchestown Racecourse? He isn't going to play there is he? It's not as if he wouldn't know. His family live just down the Naas Rd. He's hardly not going to know that Irish National Hunt racing takes place here, is he?

It's a non starter (but without your money back!).

I hear what you're saying Brel but why would they have an artist profile for him on their site if he wasn't at least in talks about playing there? They wouldn't put it there for no reason...

Now, it is possible that he talked to them, agreed and then backed out but providing he did indeed know punchestown racecourse was a racecourse, something I'm sure he would, then it's not crazy to presume that he doesn't see it as a huge factor and would play there.

More likely is that they asked and he just said no.

Maximo, I love your thinking, but the more I think about this, the less likely it seems. :( Oxegen isn't really a Morrissey audience, I can't imagine him wanting to play there, especially when he could play a 'boutique festival' like Picnic instead.

:( I think I'm letting the hope get to me!

Ah well, however unlikely there is always a glimmer and at least I have Galway to look forward to! :)

Oxegen has the same line up as T in the park so if it's true then hopefully he would be a T as well :D . I can't see it though:(.

:lbf: I was going to say that you shouldn't say such things because it might make JJ feel bad, as he is much older than you.

But, I won't say it now, as I see he's already jumped in ahead of me.

To his credit, he is the youngest looking grandpa I've seen on Morrissey-Solo. :thumb:
