OK Londoners - where's a good place to shop for Morrissey/Smiths music?

My husband and I will be in London for two weeks in March. We are staying in the Camberwell area. I'd like to shop for some UK issues of Morrissey/Smiths music and don't know where to go. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Unfortuantely due to internet many good independent record shops in London have been shut down in last 7-8 years.
Really sad that best Smiths / Morrissey stockiest Sister Ray in Berwick Street has gone last year. :(

I haven't been to Camden Town for ages, but you might find some stalls in the weekend market.
Otherwise check secondhand specialist Music Exchange in Notting Hill, Camden Town and Berwick Street.
Good luck.

I have lived in London for many years and I can tell you that the best one is MUSICVIDEOEXCHANGE in Notting Hill Gate (at the basement you can find some great stuff (I got there my original THE SMITHS album japanese import cd all excellent condition for 6 quid) , go to the first floor for loads of vinyls and rare stuff). Their branch in Camden in great for promos , excellent. They have another one in Soho, excellent too.
Reckless has sadly gone and I hear now Sister Ray has too.
That is all, as far as I know.
Cheers Moz

Music Exchange in Greenwich. Cash Converters in Camberwell.

Here's a list of record fairs. I always do best at record fairs. Record & Tape Exchange is also good, they mark everything down by a pound every week. Notting Hill is the best one(s).

Sister Ray is gone? I am sad to hear that news..have spent many hours upon hours in that place over the past 10 years buying up all the main assets of my collection. :tears:

Im looking for bootleg concerts (on video or/and dvd) ..same places to go as well mentioned above..or do you know one particular seller who sell some rare videos?

THE Morrissey / Smiths vinyl store in London

In two weeks time I will fly to London to attend the Royal Albert Hall gig.:guitar:

Is there a Londoner or anyone who can point me towards a good record store with a nice collection of Moz/Smiths vinyl in London?

Your help is dearly appreciated...

Re: THE Morrissey / Smiths vinyl store in London

From the top of my head:

Music Exchange in Notting Hill;

Sister Ray (Old Selecta Disc) in Berwick Street, Soho;

Music Exchange also in Berwick St. (But the branch in Notting Hill is way better);

Revival Records (again, Berwick St., Soho) ....old Reckless Records;

Music Exchange in Camden Town;

Flashback in Islington;

Rough Trade in Talbot Rd., Notting Hill and also there's another branch in Brick Lane;

Out on the Floor also in Camden near the Good Mixer;

Intoxica in Notting Hill....a bit expensive though.

For the rare Smiths/ Moz stuff I'd recommend Music Exchange in Notting Hill, upstairs.
Once in Rough Trade I manage to find the Shoplifters mispress with You Just Haven't Earned...they had 2 copies behind the counter, it was weird!

Sister Ray has a lot of Picture discs and 2nd hand stuff too....but they're all nice shops, maybe you're lucky to find some gems.

Re: THE Morrissey / Smiths vinyl store in London

From experience here is my list:
1. MUSIC VIDEO EXCHANGE NOTTING HILL GATE (CIRCLE OR DISTRIC LINE TUBE LINES)
2. MUSIC VIDEO EXCHANGE CAMDEN TOWN , EXCELLENT FOR PROMOS ( NORTHERN LINE)
3. MUSIC VIDEO EXCHANGE IN SOHO

These are clearly the best ones, when i was in London i got most if not all of my Moz/ Smiths stuff. Sister Ray was great too but , as far as i know, it has closed down.
Cheers Moz

Ok, the Sister Ray next to Music Exchange closed down....they moved to where SelectaDisc used to be.
