I am making a list for these recommendations now.

FGT definitely should have focused more on the relationship in a romantic way. It left me itching and wondering -- where they really lovers? I never read the book.

I didn't read the book either, but I know someone who did, she said the book depicted their relationship better than in the film. I believe her.
