This was in the Diary Page of today's Manchester Evening News.
''Coronation Street star Ben Thompson is set to perform with his own Smiths tribute band.
Ben, 14, who plays Ryan Conners, the cheeky son of Kym Marsh in the ITV soap, commemorates Morrissey, Marr and co with his acoustic tribute band 'The Rusholme Ruffians'.
Now Midlands based tribute band 'The Other Smiths' have invited Ben to support them at their gig at Manchester Academy on 3rd February.''
