If Oscar Wilde were alive today he would be accused of rape and sexual assault. Many of the boys he had sex with were under-age. And with Oscar being a rich playwright, and the boys being poor and uneducated, his actions would almost certainly be described as 'grooming' too.
Moz would empathise with Brand this morning I reckon on a merely human level. But all famous people will be cautious from now on about what they say. And that is the point.
Wilde paid rent boys. If we were to go to the red light and paid for sex with a consenting adult, it would be the same.

Wilde however, similarly to Pasolini, would by definition be a peadophile today. Along with the Greek Gods and Hadrian.

Someone under-age cannot legally consent. If he were alive today he could therefore be charged with rape or sexual assault.

No he would be charged with being a peadophile. The red light is, we hope and pray, legal age but rent boys were consenting but underage therefore it would’ve been and was peadophilia. They were consenting for money as it was seen as ‘trade’ but kiddy fiddling all the same.

Strange that you criticise others for being "unintellectual", "dunces" due to their take on this topic but when you have a chance to contribute your own views, you resort to puerile, Baz-level one-liners and guff like this.

"Baz-level one-liners" - whoa, Nelly! The boy's a canny lad.

It won’t go on M Central because M himself knows. M himself was raised by two women and I firmly believe he has a deep and loving respect for women, not to mention his sister who has kept him in check and he adores. This has been more than evident throughout the years, listen to the M and Janice Long interviews, pure respect and harmony.

M knows where the line is drawn and sexual abuse of any kind he won’t tolerate, but as I said in a previous post, he tends to be a bit too needy for publicity with famous people. M has his political beliefs and ideas, but that doesn’t mean he condones sexual abuse or treating women like disposable cutlery.
I wouldn't be surprised if Morrissey had a shitlist of 'fair-weather friends' like Brand who like the music but never said a kind word when he was being cancelled and slandered left, right and centre in the media. I can't see him being eager to speak up for Brand now that the tide has turned.

Does anyone doubt that the next time The Guardian of The NME provide a helpful list of Morrissey's 'sins', you know, blah blah blah, the gates are flooded, blah blah blah, the Chinese are a 'subspecies', in that list will be, and he was friends with Russell Brand - boo, hiss!

It did mention about failed Authors, who live in a single rented room, that can’t pay their bills, who have entered into the sex
Industry….. ring any bells?
My life isn't anywhere near that romantic. Next you'll have me in tattered skirts trying to warm myself by the coal stove in a room that the rain gets in. If only!

While nibbling on my mashed potato in the canteen, my mind cast back to this and it really does have a new meaning. Have you noticed how M looks for some kind of backup.
Even M wasn’t safe 🥶

Where /when is this from?

It looks like Ringleader/Refusal era, which I think is when the Russell Brand friendship was at its peak. I once asked Malarkey whether she, being an intern at the Morrissey office, knew if it was still going on, but she didn’t answer.
